Record the line, what is in the trench, the depths and the backfill while the trench is open – with a PDF report and a map. No account, no cloud: it stays on the device.
TrenchDocs records a trench while it is open, for machine operators, plumbers and contractors: the line, what is in the trench, the depths and the backfill. It is the record nobody can make once the ground is closed.
YOU START WITH THE JOB
• A new trench begins with what it is for: a water and sewer connection, drainage around a house, a cable trench or another trench
• The job decides what goes on the Before backfilling list
THE LINE ON THE MAP
• Place points from the phone's position, or with a crosshair on the map where the position is not good enough
• Side trenches branch off from a point on the main trench
• Areas that were dug out, drawn corner by corner
WHAT IS IN THE TRENCH
• Installations along the line: type, size, material, fall, warning tape and changes along the way
• Installations at a point: chamber, connection, joint, deviation, unidentified service and more
• Depths where you measured them
• Photos tied to the point where they were taken
• Attachments such as the excavation plan and a utility locating survey
BACKFILL AND BEFORE BACKFILLING
• Backfill layer by layer, drawn as a schematic cross-section (not to scale)
• The Before backfilling list counts what has been recorded. A tick only means "recorded"
REPORT, EXPORT AND BACKUP
• PDF report with the line drawn as a map. In Norway the map from the Norwegian Mapping Authority (Kartverket) sits underneath; elsewhere the line is drawn without a background map
• Spreadsheet (CSV) and map file (GeoJSON)
• Everything as one ZIP file, which can be imported again on a new phone
YOUR DATA STAYS ON THE DEVICE
No account, no login, no server, no analytics and no advertising. Recording works without signal. The only thing fetched over the network is map imagery: which map area to show, nothing you have recorded. Nothing leaves the device unless you share it yourself. Photos are saved without location or other metadata in the file.
THE APP RECORDS – IT DOES NOT ASSESS
TrenchDocs takes no view on depths, checks nothing against standards or the excavation plan, calculates no volumes and approves nothing. Positions are what the phone reports, not a survey.
SUBSCRIPTION
Try free for 14 days. Then NOK 249 a month or NOK 1,999 a year in Norway; in other countries the App Store shows the price in your own currency before you buy. The subscription is charged to your Apple ID and renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period, under Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
With a subscription you record and edit. Without one you can always read what is recorded, make the report, export, back up, restore and delete – what you have recorded is yours either way.
