Lacking regional data which makes it pretty tough to use regularly

I really want to use Apple Maps for their privacy stance but alas I cannot. It still can’t do multiple stops, I don’t know how many times it has tried to route me to a place in the United States despite being very aware of my location, and most significantly it is missing many locations in major cities like Wellington or Auckland (business that have been there for 10 years). Reporting a missing places doesn’t seem to result in any change, even weeks later, and neither does having favourites. This impacts navigating via Siri whilst driving (it sends me to a place that doesn’t even remotely sound like what I asked for) and even Calendar (adding locations to events). I can only hope they improve it moving forward.

It’s getting better.
. Multiple stops ability added + total time total distance. Good
. The time per each leg is displayed, please display distance per leg for fuel stop planning.
. Please add save and share map function to recall later and use or edit. I.e. a five day journey could be planned and saved.
. Please when ‘End Route’ go back to route in editor not a blank editor. Thus if want to edit route part way along journey don’t have to re-enter all the remaining stops again. Frustrating.

Otherwise it’s just a suburban a to b maps.

Please add function to save edit and share routes Can we pretty please with sugar icing on top, please have the red country borders back. It’s near impossible, neigh it is impossible, to easily make out the outlines of countries whith the grey borders. P.S. Functionality is quite clunky. Not easy to share. Only with Airdrop and only a-b not a-b-c-. Multi stop journeys once started can not be edited. When you End Route in order to change, add or remove a stop, it wipes the entire route back to the blank editor, you then have to re enter all the stops again.

Absurd globe animation

Apart from the missing and incorrect information - suggesting businesses in the USA instead of near to the town in New Zealand from which I am searching; sending me to a town 5 hours away when I know for a fact that there is a branch within 10 minutes from my current location; or telling me to drive around my neighbourhood in a big loop first, before getting onto the road I could have just driven straight onto - it has now also started to show a really annoying globe animation à la Google Earth every time I open the app. Why???
This is wasting precious time and battery power when I want to search for a place nearby. I do not need to zoom in from outer space via the USA to go from Wānaka to Queenstown.
Please stop wasting your resources on designing clever graphics tricks. Just show the right places and accurate road information.
A “search nearby” option that actually works would be useful. A recent example: If I’ve just searched for a conference centre in south Auckland, and I want to find the nearest coffee shops, I really am not interested in a bakery in Michigan. It’s been 9 years since I last visited the USA.

The spoken directions do regularly make me laugh; it is funny to hear a voice in a British or Australian accent attempt to pronounce the Māori street names around here.
