The Christchurch Bins app makes it easy to find your property’s bin collection day and set reminders for when to put out and take in your bins. Use the look up tool to find out if items can be recycled, made into organic compost or disposed as rubbish.

New version still freezes
The recent update is a step backwards. The app freezes when you open it and you need to close and reopen.
(Update- was using an iPhone 8 on ios 14.1 when it was freezing. Have since updated to ios 14.2 and the app was noticeably faster opening today and didn’t hang, but still took 5-6 seconds to open).

Didn’t work for me
Took my bin to the road and second guessed what colour it was supposed to be. The address lookup feature is gone from the website so I had to install this app. I tried multiple addresses, but, got an internal server error each time.
Got annoyed and left it to the universe to empty my bin in the morning or not. Deleted the app, I don’t want to install another app anyway. I just want to lookup which bin to put out a few times a year when I think the rest of my road must be wrong.
Really bad updates
I love the old version rather than this one. UI not good and the worse is take few minutes to open the app. It wasn’t happened in the old version. I’m using iPhone 6s Plus with IOS 14.2 and the latest version of bin.
Update, I found a way to make the app open faster, after I click on the icon I go back to the home screen and than click the icon again than the app will open just in a second.

Hi there, sorry to hear you're having issues with the new app. There is a new version of the app available which has specifically made changes to make the app faster for all users and for it to be more stable. Hopefully this improves your experience. I'm afraid the old version of the app was working well for some users but for the majority of users it wasn't working well at all so needed to be completely rebuilt.
