Description
The FreeStyle LibreLink app is approved for use with FreeStyle Libre and FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors. You can check your glucose by scanning your sensor with your phone. Now FreeStyle Libre 2 sensor users can get automatic glucose readings in the FreeStyle LibreLink app, updated every minute and also receive alarms when your glucose is low or high. [1]
You can use the FreeStyle LibreLink app to:
* View your current glucose reading, trend arrow and glucose history
* Receive low or high glucose alarms with FreeStyle Libre 2 sensors
* Add notes to track your food, insulin use, and exercise
* See reports, such as Time in Range and Daily Patterns
* Share your data with your doctor and family, with your permission
SMARTPHONE COMPATIBILITY
Compatibility may vary between phones and operating systems. Learn more about compatible phones at http://FreeStyleLibre.com.
USING YOUR APP AND READER WITH THE SAME SENSOR
Alarms can only be issued on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader or your phone (not both). To receive alarms on your phone, you must start the sensor with the app. To receive alarms on your FreeStyle Libre 2 reader, you must start the sensor with your reader. Once the sensor has been started with the reader, you can also scan that sensor with your phone.
Remember that the app and reader do not share data with each other. For complete information on a device, scan your sensor every eight hours with that device; otherwise, your reports will not include all your data. You can upload and view data from all of your devices on LibreView.com.

Ratings and Reviews
Good but lacking features
It works well enough and the new Bluetooth alarms have helped my control a lot better. That being said this app needs a few more features to not make it feel subpar to competing sensors and third party apps. These missing features include: - Integrating with apple health - Having an Apple Watch compatible app (with scanning capabilities?) - and most importantly, using the new Bluetooth connection to periodically send the sensor readings themself! There are third party apps out there which can read the sensor data via Bluetooth why can’t the official app do it?
Developer Response ,
Thanks for the suggestion. We are continuing to improve the app and we will look in to this.
Works, but hoards your data
Works as you’d expect. A long or 3D press on the icon will let you launch ready to scan without having to press the scan button (this should be an option for when the app starts up without a 3D press)
The only problem I have with this app is it hoards your data. Want to put your readings into something like MySugr? Too bad, you have to do it manually. Want your glucose in Apple Health? Nope, manual entry. The best you can hope for is exporting a CSV file from the web site, which is a terrible user experience, especially when someone is paying $50 a week for the privilege of using one of these.
It’s my data, let me use it as I see fit.
Developer Response ,
Thanks for the idea - we are continuing to evolve the app and its features.
Good but sometimes inaccurate
Hi I’m writing this review as a user of the libre 2 for about 6 months. Don’t get me wrong they have been really great at helping me with control of my blood sugars but sometimes they can be about 3 or 4mml out than what it is on a meter. I’m happy with my libre overall but I’d love to see some app improvements like maybe a widget for Home Screen or Lock Screen for iPhone users where you can see your last reading with out having to physically go into the app or something like that. Thank you :)

Thanks for letting us know. We appreciate the feedback.
