Intuitive writing features like scribble on text to delete, and two finger tap to undo, and great easy to understand organisation. Much better than Freeform. which often requires two hands. Yes, while Apple has great scribble features, they seem to only work when converting to text, not if writing in your handwriting like a journal. Overall, after testing a bunch of apps and e-ink tablets (like Boox/reMarkable), Freenotes with the Astrolab paper/nibs on an iPad (with the Accessibility colour filter setting set to greyscale) is the best experience IMHO.

Love the way it runs, only annoying you have to pay after a bit but still affordable. Can copy and paste straight from MacBook which is handy for writing uni notes with diagrams.

I love this app for all its features - amazing selection of options and ability to download, use split screen, PDF editing, etc. Unfortunately, the update where everything now costs means it is no longer the free notes I initially started using and makes it no better cost wise than most other apps on the market. i have continued to use it as all of my notes for the past 12 months are stored here but once i finish my current project I will be unlikely to return to use this app.

I was so excited when I found this amazing app when trying to decide which notes app would be the best fit. Has amazing features and absolutely loved that it was budget friendly for students. I even shared it with classmates who were looking for the same things I was. However, It’s not really “Free” Notes anymore. Now it’s limited notes and ads now. At this point I can go use any other notes app that charges. Was pretty disappointed with this new updated :( .
