Tīmata

Your first 30 days out

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Tīmata — "to begin" — is a free, step-by-step guide for the first 30 days after leaving prison in Aotearoa New Zealand. The first month out is the hardest: probation deadlines, a benefit to sort, ID to replace, somewhere to sleep. Tīmata lays it out one step at a time, in plain language, so nothing important slips. • Free — no sign-up, no passwords, no personal details • Private — your progress stays on your device • Works offline — open it anywhere, even with no data • For everyone — coming home, walking alongside someone as whānau, or supporting people as a care worker Inside: day-zero priorities (report to Probation within 72 hours, the Steps to Freedom grant, emergency housing), the week-one identity chain (birth certificate, photo ID, RealMe, IRD), money and housing, and health, work and connection. Every phone number and fact is checked and dated. Crisis lines are one tap from every screen. A community project by Sant Limited. Not affiliated with the Department of Corrections or any government agency.

Ratings & Reviews

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

A new design, made to be easier to use. Opening the app is calmer too: the three waves fade where they are and your guide rises in. Works offline from the first launch. The app no longer needs an internet connection the first time it opens. You can set up your guide and tick off steps with no signal. Once the phone is back online, your progress is saved and your link appears in Settings.
