Excellent!

I switched to Sync Folders Pro and like it a lot. The interface is layed out so that the simple stuff is where you need it with more advanced options kept accessible but out of the way if you need them. The progress bar includes information about what is being copied so if like me you are copying over wireless you can see each file copy, which is very useful. It also gives you a time to complete which is something GetBackup Pro did not have.

I had been using GetBackup Pro and that had some issues whereby it would just stop copying mid-sync for no apparent reason, even on small files. I could find no reason why and the support contact was not able to assist with any decent information. A restart would often fix it but not always.

There are various help icons throughout the interface with access to answers when you need them. It’s great - really happy with it.

Additionally on the one occaision I contacted support to make sure I was clear on something I needed to do the response was quick and very friendly.

Worked flawlessly with my NAS

I recently set up a Qnap NAS system, first time using such a device. I tried the Qsync function to back up my files from my Macbook to the NAS storage device but had trouble with file permissions and had to remove the app. I tried several other methods of copying the files but the file manage of the system would only copy the first 10000 files of each folder. I was trying to copy 1.1Tb of 200 000 photos over the last 5 years. It was stored in a different folder for each year, each with sub-folders for each month, and further sub-folders for each ‘event’ of that month. I found that the interface would only copy the first three months of each year. I then painstakingly copied one folder at a time over several days only to find that they all desappeared for some reason - possibly due to the Qsync app.
I re-booted the NAS system, removed the Qsync app and eventually found the free version of Sync Folders and gave it a try.
It worked flawlessly. Previously trying to copy files using Finder to the NAS was going to take 11 days. using the NAS interface took 14 hours originally.
Using Synch Folders took about 5 hours in comparison and all of my folders were copied over and are still there a week later - very happy with the results!
