Ascolta is a podcast player for learning English. Listen to English podcasts while reading along with an English transcript.
READ ALONG AS YOU LISTEN
The current sentence is highlighted and scrolls with the audio. Missed something? Tap ▶ next to any sentence to play from there.
TAP A WORD TO LOOK IT UP
Tap any word to see its meaning in the dictionaries installed on your iPhone. Inflected forms like "went" or "studies" are looked up by their base form.
TRANSLATE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED
Long-press a sentence to see its Japanese translation. Translations stay hidden until you ask, so you keep practicing in English.
TRANSCRIPTS FOR ANY ENGLISH PODCAST
When a podcast doesn't provide a transcript, Ascolta transcribes downloaded episodes on your iPhone automatically.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Transcription, translation, and dictionary lookups all happen on your iPhone. Audio and transcripts are never sent to a server. No account required, and no usage data is collected.

PLEASE NOTE
