Chords for every instrument, a count-in, Studio effects, and room to play with your phone on its side. • CHORDS FOR YOUR INSTRUMENT The Chords tab now shows piano (left and right hand), bass, ukulele and saxophone as well as guitar, plus the singer's melody on a staff. Chords follow the song's harmony, one per bar or half bar, rather than every note of the bass, and the bass can show just the root. • COUNT-IN Pick 1, 2 or 4 bars on the BPM tab and Play counts you in at the song's tempo. • STUDIO EFFECTS Compression, reverb, echo and tone for each track, with presets. • IN TIME The metronome, playhead, chords and lyrics follow what you hear, and recordings land where you played them, Bluetooth headphones included. • MORE TO ADD Add Stem brings in parts from your other songs, or a song from your music library. • ON ITS SIDE Turn your phone and the editor lays out side by side, with the tabs down the edge. • MASHUP AND CODES Mashup has its own tab, and a new mashup's parts are one tap away. Unlock Pro with it in Settings. • FIXED The metronome no longer goes quiet while you scroll, the video recorder keeps the song through the whole take, a recorded part shows its waveform where you sang it, and the Pitch dial names the right key.

Organ and electric keys, and a Studio you can line things up in. • ORGAN AND ELECTRIC KEYS Advanced Split can now pull a Hammond organ, or a Rhodes and other electric pianos, into their own track — alongside synths, which it already did. A song built on an organ no longer has it buried in Other. • SEE THE BEAT The Studio draws the song's beats down the timeline, with the first of each bar picked out. It always snapped to them; now you can aim at them, which is what lining up a recording by eye needs. • SOLO Every track in the Studio has a solo button beside mute, for hearing one part on its own. • TRACK NAMES YOU CAN READ Names sat in a column too narrow for them and came out as single letters. They have their own line now. • RECORDINGS THAT LAND WHERE YOU PLAYED THEM A take that couldn't be matched to the music was placed with no correction for the delay between hearing a song and your voice reaching the microphone. It now uses what the device reports instead, and a weak match no longer places a take on a guess. Most noticeable on headphones. • FIXED Exporting could crash the app, and every exported MP3 was missing about a second from the end. Newly separated parts could appear muted with a flat waveform when they were playing perfectly well.

Studio — build with your stems, not just listen to them. • STUDIO Lay your stems out on a timeline and make something with them. Move, trim, fade and layer tracks, record over them, and export the result. Turn your phone sideways for room to work. • ADVANCED SPLIT Pull more out of a song when you need it: a synth or organ separated out of Other, and a lead vocal separated from its backing harmonies. • TAKE A TRACK FROM ANOTHER SONG Drop the bass from one of your songs under the drums of another. • CHORDS THAT FOLLOW THE MUSIC Chord recognition now reads the instruments actually playing the chords instead of the whole mix, and follows the bass to find the root. It knows what key you're in, and sixth chords finally exist — a C6 is no longer called an Am7. • SONGS THAT AREN'T IN FOUR The app works out whether a song is in three, four or six instead of assuming. Waltzes and 6/8 ballads are counted properly, so bar lines and the metronome land where they should. • RECORDING Takes are captured at full quality. The song keeps playing in your ears while you record on AirPods. And when a recording can't start, the app says why instead of doing nothing. • IMPORTING Your whole music library is visible again, including songs kept in iCloud that aren't downloaded to this phone. • FIXED Songs could vanish from your library after a moment's trouble reaching our servers. They stay put now.
