Thank goodness this app was made!
I have a mac mini but because of an accident, the monitor broke. I have an iPad but I need some things that only computer versions of apps can give. Thankfully, I found Duet! Made my iPad my primary screen. Though some issues happened on the first few days of using it, Duet Team was very responsive to my emails and made sure I got everything up and running well. Thanks! Keep up the good work Duet Team!
Helps me save money while still putting out high quality work
My as-cheap-as-possible Mac setup is now what I’ve always wanted it to be. I recently got the M1 Mac mini to replace my 2017 base-specced Macbook Pro. Now left without a trackpad, I’ve found myself doing phantom gestures on my clueless Logitech M585 mouse. Staring at my 5th gen iPad, I said, “You should be able to handle that stuff, right?” It elected to remain silent. Then I recalled I already owned Duet Display, but I barely used it in the past few years. “Fair point,” I said. “‘Bout time I gave it another spin, no?” Gadgets really have a way of speaking to you.
Duet Display in 2021 is amazing. It’s also helped save me from getting another monitor, a Magic Trackpad, and maybe a drawing tablet. And I even get a Touch Bar as a bonus. Since I do graphic design stuff every now and then, I’ve subscribed to Duet Air to access the hi-res functions.
Also, when I ran into issues (first gen Apple silicon woes) their team was quick to respond to my email. By the way—Vlad, you’re awesome.
I am now really, really happy with my Mac/iPad/iPhone setup. I’ve always been raring for my Apple devices to be able to talk to each other seamlessly, and the Apple ecosystem in 2021 finally makes that possible. Granted, there are still some connectivity kinks, but it’s just amazing to see developments unfold week after week. And that’s without having to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade to the new hardware.
Very Useful App and Excellent Customer Service!
I use Duet Display mainly for doing Voice Over recordings as my “copy/script” display using an ipad pro. I have a small make-shift vocal booth which is placed on top of my desk beside my computer and recording gear. Duet Display makes it easy for me to pop inside the booth with my ipad and read, record and edit on the spot. Makes things very convenient!
I’m excited to use it for other apps like Logic Pro X as a control surface, amongst others!
And It’s always great to have an extra display.
This all wouldn’t have been possible without the Customer Support Team though! In the beginning, I couldn’t get Duet Display to work on my ipad(even when it worked flawlessly with my iPhone). But I contacted customer support(pressing the “help” button) and they replied very promptly! The staff, Hector, Rahul and Walterio, were very accommodating and really helped me out step-by-step, until I got it to work!
If any of you encounter any problems, I highly suggest you just contact their support team, they’ll get you sorted out!
This is a great App! More power to the team!
