Great Game BUT Not Newbie Friendly
It’s got tutorials and all but if you want to understand better, you still need to refer to online guides separate from the game. Once you start, the amount of tasks available that you can do may be overwhelming, but once you’re deep in the game you’ll be glad of not running out of things to do. Stamina upgrades when you level up is so stingy for me. Can play without paying for anything if you’re patient. Be thrifty with items you acquire in earlier levels, especially spices (those leaves used to level up skills of food souls). Use them wisely, once you have stronger food souls, you’ll be begging for them.
Haven’t stepped out of the house in four days
The game has beautiful graphics, hands down, and the missions (divided into side quests and the main story line) let the story unfold like a visual novel.
The game progress is heavily dependent on your level, and it often seemed like it was holding my hand as it guided me through its different features such as the many modes under trial, the restaurant management, and the other quirky tasks. Lest you’re the type to skip dialogue and ignore the manual, you wouldn’t accidentally mess up your game because it REALLY points out everything.
As with any other mobile game out there, there are in-app purchases. You don’t need really need to pay to get ahead, as the game is generous with in-game currency and soul embers that are used for the gatcha. But, if you want a limited edition husbando or waifu and you absolutely cannot let love pass, then I guarantee you’ll be immensely tempted to hit that ‘purchase’ option once. Twice. Okay, maybe more than three times. (My advice: Don’t do it! Your will is stronger than that!)
Lastly, Food Fantasy WILL devour your time. Its battle system and different modes demand attention, as the player will need to support their team of food souls and/or pitch in with a vengeful knife to turn the tide of battle and make life easier for these personified consumables.
10/10 I recommend it.
Items (and others)
I have spent the past few minutes grinding so I gained a lot of salmon. It’s not that I dislike salmon, I just don’t have any use for it. However, I want to suggest a sort of trading system. Like, you can ONLY trade items and shards if the player you are trading with has the item you want and wants the items you have.
The graphics as pretty and nice to look at. They don’t pop out too much and the characters are well drawn. But there are a few issues on the animation. They are okay as chibis, but sometimes a customer would just sit there, taking up space and NEVER LEAVING until you restarts..
Overall, it’s a pretty cool game.
