With a library full of beautiful, blazing-fast and fully customizable pixel and vector brushes, animatable effects, a smudge tool, animated text and vector shapes, bones with inverse kinematics, video and audio layers, camera movements, symbols and many more features, ToonSquid makes it easy to bring your vision to life.
Traditional Animation
- Create hand-drawn frame-by-frame animations
- Control how long you want to show each drawing in the timeline
- Draw in resolutions of up to 4k
Keyframe Animation
- Add keyframes to automatically animate layer and effects properties over time
- Choose from an extensive list of customizable easing curve presets to create organic motion between keyframes
- Easily loop your keyframe animation
Powerful Layer System
- Define the order and length of each element in your animation using layers and drawings and a flexible timeline
- Organize your layers into groups for a clean workflow or to animate multiple layers at once
- Use the camera layer to quickly define the visible portion of your animation in the export

- Take full advantage of Apple Pencil's pressure and tilt sensitivity and the iPad Pro's 120Hz display for lag-free drawing
- Use vector brushes to create brush strokes that are sharp at every zoom level
- Edit the 60+ brush settings and import custom textures to create a brush library that is perfectly tailored to your art style
- Blend your strokes together using the smudge tool
- Draw in a variety of styles such as sketching, inking, wet mixing, pixel art, and more
- Export and share your custom brushes with others
- Import your existing library of Adobe® Photoshop® brushes
Vector Shapes
- Create custom shapes using the path tool by placing and editing each curve control point
- Quickly add common vector shapes from the shape library
- Import SVG files
- Fill and stroke your shapes with beautiful gradients and edit them directly on the canvas
- Animate the visible length of a path using its trim properties
Animatable Effects
- Create character rigs using bones and add inverse kinematics constraints
- Create custom meshes to deform pixel layers when they are part of a bone rig
- Animate perspective and warp effects
- Apply adjustments, blur, pixelation, drop shadow, chroma key, halftone, parallax and more effects
Efficient symbol workflow
- Split your animation into separate clips that you can then reuse multiple times using symbols
- Make edits to an animation clip and immediately see the changes in all of its symbol instances
- Use frame markers to speed up your lip-syncing workflow
Text
- Add text layers and animate their appearance
- Import your favorite fonts
Color
- Use ToonSquid's powerful color picker with plenty of different interfaces to choose the exact colors you need
- Create custom color palettes and share them outside the application
- Pick colors straight from the canvas using the pipette tool
- Fill connected regions quickly with the fill tool
Audio and Video
- Add audio clips to your timeline and perform lip-syncing animations
- Import videos, GIFs and images into your project and work with them through symbols
Transform
- Animate a layer's position, rotation and scale properties using keyframes
- Build transform hierarchies to achieve more advanced movements
- Edit your layer's motion path directly on the canvas
Numerous Export Formats
- Export your work in one of many common file formats such as MP4, MOV, GIF, PNG, JPEG, PSD, and more.
its actually a very good app! even tho u literally just downloaded it it seems like it will be a very nice app, im extremly new to this app but its still very cool, the only real problem is there isnt many tutorials that can help me because this app isnt really known that much, but still a very good app dont know if its worth 10$ yet but ill see in the future if i get better (im more used to flipaclip btw so it will take a while for me to get used to this app but still very good)
I wish it has this features as a bare minimum

This has been a powerful animation software now, i’m a professional illustrator and now exploring animations. I have been using spine 2d and moho for much of animations in my work. Using toon squid is really exciting and has a potential to monopolize the animation industry in mobil4 markey by adding this basic feature for now. 1. is weight painting for mesh so binding rig bones can be customized and have each mesh to have values of 0-1 for deformations anchored to its origin or coordinates relative to the bones and its hierarchy. 2. Precise selection tools like box select, paint select, or lasso select so you can select multiple meshes. 3. “Axis” maybe having the options to move each mesh according to world coordinates, local coordinates and parent coordinates. At the very moment animating each mesh by adding in between keyframes is at local axis which moves and flicks to random directions especially when it was keyframed already and the deformed mesh is at the in between animation state already. If its in the world axis then the current status of mesh will be lock in realative to its coordinates and adding or moving a mesh will be easier and wont flick to random coordinated realtive to its local origin axis before the animation.4. Drivers and constraint. Drivers or driver bones is a sub bones that has a either transform, rotation and scale constraint of a carefully set values of animations from a to b from a multiple bones to make the rig much more easy to use. Tedious but more easier in the latter. For constraint i hope physics, ik and other stuffs can be possible as well.
Animation Easing Feature Suggestion (Please make it almost similar to AlightMotion’s Features).

I have bought this app as it is compatible with Procreate and Adobe Fresco, making the trasference of images and layers easier. However, the animation easing features are VERY limited, especially for the custom. This led me to compare my tweening workflows in ToonSquid versus Alight Motion. Unfortunately, Alight Motion still outperforms ToonSquid in this area because ToonSquid’s easing features feel confusing, complicated, and limited. I hope the developers consider updating these features, ideally by creating an exact replica of Alight Motion's system, especially the Bounce, Cyclic, and Random presets. I also hope for a UI update that allows for more customization and easier navigation. Overall, the app has great potential, and I agree with the many YT animators who say its features are outstanding and even surpass Procreate Dreams :33
HIII I hope my request isn’t too much but I really love toonsquid!

I’m using an ipad mini to animate, I’ve done a few animations on the app which are just sketches and some practices… the outcome when I imported it is very smooth,I love it! But I’m working on my new one trying to add color this time… although I find it difficult to zoom in even closer because I want my line art to look consistent and clean on the first frame, I keep messing up which frustrated me🥲 and gave up trying, I just wonder if you could like let it zoom in more like you could see the brush strokes even closer and it would be easier to erase the mistake? (Apologies If I ask too much I just love this app and I’m still learning how to use it! :”>)
- Fixed a bug in 2.0.26 that caused the selected drawing layer to change when deleting, cutting or copying a selection region of a layer.
