I’ve been using HelloTalk for the past 5 years almost 6 years soon. I’ve witnessed this app improve in its development over the years. There never was a “correction” function but now it’s commonplace and everyone enjoys this function. There has also been improvements in the User Experience. I was impressed by the continuous development of the app I decided to pay annual subscription so I can find learners of more than 1 language. I’m learning 3 languages now through the app. I’ve made plenty of friends. Although some I haven’t talked to in years, I have a couple of close friends who remain my friends to this day. It’s all thanks to HelloTalk which has become a language community on its own.I recommend people who download the app to actively try to learn their target language with natives and form friendships. But this also takes time and don’t expect to have a beat friend in a day here.

User’s Location / region suddenly changes including native language which is harder for some users who work overseas and doesn’t speak the local language. I’m learning Vietnamese and my native language is English but I’m working in Vietnam. When i created my account i settled my location to USA since that’s my hometown but since I’m overseas it suddenly changed my region and native language even though i am VIP and didn’t provide a location. I talked to hellotalk about this and asked me for verification 🙃. That is considered a privacy!!! You shouldn’t even ask for documentation that tells where you were born or even your native language. Thats nonsense. Unless it is face to face. BUT please fix this is really a hassle for language learners. Also be better when it comes to customer services some users have been sharing there issues you barely reply to messages especially about refunds. Please fix this Hellotalk the app was great before.

This app is very convenient for communicating with people outside of your home country, but the only problem is that the app is very unbalanced, a lot of people wants to learn English, so as expected a lot of people would strike a conversation with you. It’s not really a bad thing for most people, but for me it gets super irritating sometimes, due to the fact I have to reply to every single one. The average messages I get in a day is about 10-20 messages (from different people), sometimes it goes over that. Of course it’s optional to reply back, but i’m the type of person who doesn’t want a person to feel ignored so I struggle. This app also needs more convenient features like; swiping left to reply to a message and add react emojis to texts, but overall it’s a very useful app and the people I met so far are so nice, thanks to this app my Mandarin (Chinese) is getting better!

Why 3? actually at first i have a good time with this application, i have many friends and i haven’t encounter any problems but i made another account this time, which is my third account. And the application is saying that i have been registered and unregistered many times and i enter multiple ages, which is true because time flies and so i ages, i became one year older and so i have to put another age. So, the application is asking for my video and i have to show my face, they said i have to mention my Helltalk ID and my age, nickname, nationality and native language which is okay for me, but my face? why do i have to do that? i just enter another age. Please fix this things, i don’t want to send my video, and i also have a lot of friends there, and i cant reply with me because of this problem. Please, act with this.
