MEO MATE is a community app for dog owners to find playmates for their dogs, connect with local pet-service businesses (groomers, walkers, vets, boarding), and shop for physical pet products in an in-app marketplace.
CORE FEATURES
- Dog & business profiles with photos, location, and details.
- Nearby search: find dogs for playdates and local pet businesses within a chosen distance.
- Chat between dog owners and between owners and businesses.
- Marketplace: browse and order physical dog products (food, toys, accessories) shipped to the user.
- Ratings: after a service, an owner can rate a business and optionally leave a small appreciation payment.
- Health logs: vaccination and medication reminders for a user's own dog.
- Curated content: dog-friendly locations, events, and partner articles (e.g. WildDog, Vetts, WinWin).
LOCATION
Location powers nearby search and matching. It is entirely optional: on the location step of onboarding, "Enter location manually" lets a user type any address instead of granting GPS access. The dashboard offers the same manual option if location access is off, and Search accepts a typed place name. The app is fully usable with Location Services disabled system-wide.
PAYMENTS
No subscriptions, no in-app purchases, no digital content is sold. Two payment flows, both processed by Globadyme (external card checkout), consistent with Guideline 3.1.3(e) for goods/services consumed outside the app:
1) Marketplace orders — physical products shipped to the user.
2) Appreciation — an optional tip to a business after a real-world service; a rating can always be submitted without paying.
CONTENT MODERATION & SAFETY
Profile bios, listing text, and chat messages are filtered server-side against a profanity/slur blocklist before being stored. Users can Report or Block other users, listings, or messages from the relevant screens. Community Guidelines are available in-app in English and Dutch.
ACCOUNT & PRIVACY
Account creation is optional — a "browse as guest" mode is available. Signed-in users can permanently delete their account and all associated data in-app via Settings > Personal/Business Info > Delete Account (requires password re-entry). Privacy Policy and Terms are linked in-app and in App Store Connect. The app collects no analytics and performs no user tracking.
