My as-cheap-as-possible Mac setup is now what I’ve always wanted it to be. I recently got the M1 Mac mini to replace my 2017 base-specced Macbook Pro. Now left without a trackpad, I’ve found myself doing phantom gestures on my clueless Logitech M585 mouse. Staring at my 5th gen iPad, I said, “You should be able to handle that stuff, right?” It elected to remain silent. Then I recalled I already owned Duet Display, but I barely used it in the past few years. “Fair point,” I said. “‘Bout time I gave it another spin, no?” Gadgets really have a way of speaking to you. Duet Display in 2021 is amazing. It’s also helped save me from getting another monitor, a Magic Trackpad, and maybe a drawing tablet. And I even get a Touch Bar as a bonus. Since I do graphic design stuff every now and then, I’ve subscribed to Duet Air to access the hi-res functions. Also, when I ran into issues (first gen Apple silicon woes) their team was quick to respond to my email. By the way—Vlad, you’re awesome.I am now really, really happy with my Mac/iPad/iPhone setup. I’ve always been raring for my Apple devices to be able to talk to each other seamlessly, and the Apple ecosystem in 2021 finally makes that possible. Granted, there are still some connectivity kinks, but it’s just amazing to see developments unfold week after week. And that’s without having to spend thousands of dollars to upgrade to the new hardware.

I use Duet Display mainly for doing Voice Over recordings as my “copy/script” display using an ipad pro. I have a small make-shift vocal booth which is placed on top of my desk beside my computer and recording gear. Duet Display makes it easy for me to pop inside the booth with my ipad and read, record and edit on the spot. Makes things very convenient!I’m excited to use it for other apps like Logic Pro X as a control surface, amongst others!And It’s always great to have an extra display.This all wouldn’t have been possible without the Customer Support Team though! In the beginning, I couldn’t get Duet Display to work on my ipad(even when it worked flawlessly with my iPhone). But I contacted customer support(pressing the “help” button) and they replied very promptly! The staff, Hector, Rahul and Walterio, were very accommodating and really helped me out step-by-step, until I got it to work! If any of you encounter any problems, I highly suggest you just contact their support team, they’ll get you sorted out!This is a great App! More power to the team!

For someone that uses two or more programs at the same time to work, this app is amazing!This app has done wonders for me. I use it as a separate screen for my reference images while illustrating, or as a drawing tablet working with textures while my main monitor works with the 3D modeling program I use. The best part - duet display makes use of the iPad’s full resolution as a second monitor with no awkward empty black bars on the sides of the screen.I’ve tried other apps that offer the same services, but Duet Display is certainly the most optimized among others, and has exactly what I need.I had issues making it work for Windows 10 but the support team helped me resolve the problem within the day. Their response was quick and they’re very helpful. Quick tip for people with Nvidia Graphics Cards: Turn off shadowplay / instant replay to avoid issues.

After seeing a handful of ads about Duet, and watching reviews about it, I finally downloaded the app. However, I had trouble downloading the Mac version of the app. Thankfully, Hector from the support team responded to my concerns via messenger. I’m using an early 2015 Macbook pro and iPad 7th gen, and when I tried to hack sidecar before, I got terrible resolution on the ipad and it kept on uninstalling when Catalina updates. But now here in Duet, I have excellent screen resolution on my iPad, and gestures actually work! Thank you so much, Duet!
