Mawlytics Strokes Gained Practice & Coaching
Turn every practice session into measurable improvement. Mawlytics uses real strokes gained analysis, the same method used on the PGA Tour, to show you exactly where you're gaining and losing shots.
Log your shots from the range, short game area, or putting green and instantly see your strokes gained against tour and handicap benchmarks. Track driving, approach, short game, and putting separately so you know precisely what to work on.
For players:
Strokes gained scoring for every part of your game
Structured practice tests for driving, approach, wedges, and putting
Track your progress over time and beat your personal bests
Works with a launch monitor or by eye
For coaches and academies:
Run live group sessions, players join with a code
Real-time leaderboards and order-of-merit rankings
See every player's shots and progress from your own screen
Set tasks, benchmark players, and share branded results
Whether you're a golfer chasing a lower handicap or a coach running an academy, Mawlytics turns practice into progress you can measure.

Mawlytics 1.36
- Put a hole in as the wrong par? Open the round in Progress and tap the par on that hole to change it. The score, vs par and the round totals all redo themselves.
- On a bigger phone the strokes gained figures on your dashboard no longer run off the right-hand edge.
- New players get a short Start here list on the home screen: set up your bag, run your first test, see where you lose shots. It disappears once you have logged a session.
- A code meant for coaches now says so plainly if a player tries it, instead of saying the code was not recognised.
1.36 25 Sept
Mawlytics 1.35 – plan the lesson, keep the round.
- A round is never lost. Freestyle rounds, playing lessons and full rounds are saved after every shot, so if your phone closes the app you come back to the same hole with everything you logged.
- Coaches: lesson plans. Set up a lesson in advance with tests, drills, course games and speed work, give it a date, then run it with any player as a checklist. One report at the end.
- Coaches: area reports. Pick any period or a single test and see where a player gains and loses shots by discipline, distance and lie, with the trend over time and a PDF to send.
- Reports now show strokes gained against the player's handicap as well as against the Tour.
- Shot shaping is scored on shapes hit, not strokes gained.
- A test built for a lesson is kept in your library.
1.35 24 Sept

- Simpler testing: pick where you are and a discipline, and every test is on one page
- Progress shows one line per discipline, with sessions grouped by month
- Coaches: lesson plans, one list for every test and game, and a roster grouped by handicap
- Coaches: area reports and monthly reports as PDFs to send
- Fixes and tidy-ups throughout
1.34 22 Sept
Sessions no longer go missing between your phone, tablet and the website. Every device now shows the same sessions, and the app automatically restores anything that failed to sync.
Round edits now show on every device.
If a session hasn't uploaded yet, the home screen tells you, so you never lose it by deleting the app.
1.33 20 Sept
Your phone, tablet and browser now stay in step. A session logged on one device appears on the others straight away instead of waiting until the app is reopened.
A hole's length can be corrected after a round, and the hole rescores itself. You can also add a missing shot when editing a hole, not just delete one.
Every putt records its break and its slope, and your session splits your putting by both.
Putting distances on a lesson report read in feet rather than yards.
1.32 18 Sept
Shots can now carry a lie condition — above or below your feet, uphill, downhill, divot, hardpan, wet sand, plugged — and a pin position including short sided.
Your session breaks shots down by lie, condition, pin and club, with strokes gained and proximity for each, worst first.
Coaches can lock a club to a shot when building a test, to force variety.
In a playing lesson the lie can be corrected on every shot, not just the first.
1.31 16 Sept
Driver and 3-wood tee tests now ask for total distance, not carry. Your driving was being scored short by the roll.
Strokes gained for a discipline now reads the same on every screen. If you have a long history, your home screen figure will move.
Rounds show your strokes gained against your handicap under each phase.
Leaderboards are readable in sunlight mode.
Coaches can now be coached — find them in roster search, they accept from Coach Hub.
1.30 15 Sept
Sunlight mode: a light, high contrast theme for reading the app outdoors. Switch it from the header, or mid-test and mid-round.
Text contrast raised across the app to meet accessibility standards.
Fixed a round showing its shot count as a hole count.
1.29 14 Sept
Coaches can now log club and ball speed. Smash factor is worked out as you type, it saves to the player's own speed history, and it comes through on their emailed report. Works with a guest too.
The club you choose now stays chosen for the rest of the test, rather than resetting to the suggested club on every shot.
Editing a logged shot no longer resets its club or its lie.
A lesson's total strokes gained now matches the tests listed underneath it.
If a payment is declined the app now tells you, and points you at the right place to update your card.
Coaches: commission is paid as soon as a player subscribes, not quarterly.
1.28 10 Sept
Par tests now show your score against par rather than strokes gained, on the test screen, in your history and in emailed reports.
Coaches can remove a test from a lesson, and the result is removed from the player's history too.
The coach's report screen now groups results by test.
Range tests open on Carry and Side, so a launch monitor number is logged instead of a yes or no.
Fixes for discarding a lesson and a rare blank screen after finishing a test.
1.27 5 Sept
Strongest and Focus Area now only name a discipline you have practiced.
Rounds are no longer counted as an eighth discipline.
Carry and offline separated so a stray tap can't change your carry.
Guest player details survive backing out of a test.
1.26 4 Sept
Rounds now save with no signal and send when you reconnect.
Editing a round no longer leaves a duplicate.
Coaches can correct a player's shots in a group session.
Group session tasks now start on Carry and Side.
1.25 3 Sept
Distances can now be shown in metres. Go to Settings, Distances, and pick Yards or Metres. Everything follows: rounds, tests, your bag and your history. Putting stays in feet.
Your handicap now saves properly. It previously looked saved but reverted the next time you signed in, which also meant your strokes gained was being measured against the wrong level.
Log a Round is on the home screen from day one. It used to stay hidden until you had logged a practice session first, which was no use if you signed up to track rounds.
Strong, Developing and Focus Area now show twice on each part of your game: once against your own handicap and once against tour, so you can see both at a glance.
Group sessions are steadier. Scores survive a dropped signal, joining on a second device no longer splits you into two players, and the back button works properly on Android.
Joining a session: the screen no longer sits under the top of the phone, and you pick your handicap from a list instead of typing it.
1.24 2 Sept
Putting tests started from a practice plan now behave properly. Distances read in feet rather than yards, the green is drawn correctly, and you are no longer asked which club you used.
Scores logged in a group session survive a bad signal. If your phone drops out as you finish a task, the score is held on your device and sent as soon as you are back online.
Joining a group session on a second device no longer splits you into two players. Use the same email and your scores stay together.
Closing a group session twice can no longer send a player a second copy of their report.
The background is properly black on iPhone.
1.23 2 Sept
Strokes gained against your own level.
You now see how you are doing against a typical golfer off your handicap, alongside the figure against tour — on your dashboard, on every discipline, and on each phase of a round. Change your handicap and it moves with you, while your past results keep the handicap they were played off.
Coaches get the same on the roster and on every player's page, worked out from what that player actually practises.
Plus handicaps are properly measured. A plus 5 is now benchmarked against tour, and plus 4 through plus 1 each get their own standard.
An open drill now has a Back to drills button, so you no longer have to scroll up to close it.
Also fixed: par 3 tee shots now count as approach shots, not off the tee, which is how strokes gained defines them. Your totals are unchanged — the shots have moved to the right group.
1.22 30 Aug
Getting started is now much simpler. New players see one clear next step instead of a full dashboard, and the rest of the app opens up once you've logged your first test.
Also includes fixes to how free trials are tracked.
1.20 28 Aug
Tap any phase of a round, tee, approach, short game or
putting to see the shots behind the number, worst first.
Each one shows the hole, where you played from, where it
finished and what it cost.
Landing zone targets now widen as the shot gets longer,
worked out from the strokes gained model rather than set
by hand.
Plus fixes: no more empty roster or trial message flashing
up while the app loads, and completions and updates are
picked up when you open the app rather than only after a
restart.
1.19 26 Aug
See what actually cost you shots
Tap any phase of a round — off the tee, approach, short
game or putting — and see the shots behind that number,
worst first. Every shot shows the hole, where you played
it from, where it finished and what it cost you. Available
on your own rounds and to your coach on yours.
Honest numbers on Landing Zone tests
When a test is scored on hit or miss, the app no longer
shows an estimated distance as though it had been
measured. Hit or miss is what you answered, so hit or
miss is what you see.
Help and What's New brought up to date
Course games, leagues, playing lessons, guest sessions
and swing markups are all documented now, and the
changelog covers everything shipped since launch.
Plus fixes and polish throughout.
1.18 25 Aug
Round types
Every round you log is now Practice, Freestyle or Tournament, so
you can see whether your game travels from the range to the card.
Your Progress page compares all three side by side.
Freestyle rounds
Log shots as they happen, with no fixed number of holes. Any lie,
any distance, as many or as few shots as you like. Ideal for a few
holes after work, dropping balls to work on something, or joining
a round part way through. Measured on Strokes Gained only.
Custom tests keep their yardages
A custom test now plays exactly as you built it, instead of being
rescaled to your bag.
For coaches
Send several marked-up frames from one swing in a single go.
Lesson notes are no longer lost if you close the app mid-lesson.
Alerts for completed tasks now follow your account, so clearing
them on one device no longer silences that device for good.
Plus the usual round of fixes and polish.
1.17 24 Aug
Run a whole lesson and send one report at the end, covering every test and game you did. Bug fixes and improvements.
1.16 19 Aug
Course games, playable on the course and inside group sessions. Guest session results now follow you into a new account. Plus a tidier coach screen and a batch of fixes.
1.14 14 Aug
Fixed an issue where a long session on the course could log you out in the background and stop lesson reports sending. If your login times out, you can now sign straight back in without losing anything.
