Brought to you in beautiful HD pixelated glory, Star Command brings to life the challenges and joys of managing a starship. Upgrade your ship, get out into the unknown and watch your crew die grizzly deaths all at your command. Strange and annoying alien civilizations await you at every turn. Manage each of your ships roles, focusing on science skills, tactical combat and ship engineering. Prevent alien invaders from taking over your ship and causing massive amounts of damage with sentry guns. Revive dying crew members with new rooms! Incomplete Game - Potential Wasted
I love sci-fi and I was really looking forward to enjoying this game. As you play through the game it holds so much promise: Multiple Storylines, Numerous Intellectual Species, and Seemingly Long Term Affecting Decisions. After a certain point in the game, it falls off. There's a part where you get to upgrade your ship (how exciting) then it ***spoiler alert*** resets the game. This was a major turn off for me.
I then went to look up why and found out the devs have all but given up on this "version" of the game. I'm really disappointed at this point but hey the game had its moments.
Buy this game if you're looking for a small sci-fi fix. Don't treat it like a long term relationship, treat it like a fling and you'll be fine.
Good but far from great
I loved ftl . This tries hard to be ftl but it lacks what made ftl fun. The open endedness, varied weapon systems. Its good but really it needs a lot more work even the storyline is disappointing. Im writing this review to wake up the devs since this game has a lot of potential, so please improve this game.

I love this kind of game, and star command hit the right spot. I would've given it a 5 star, but it's not as perfect as i'd hoped. Don't get me wrong, I think this game is already awesome, but there is still room to improve to an even greater game, I wish in the future version/updates there would be an option to automate battle like the old school game "Taipan" or "Pirates" where in this case battle in space will be base on the spec of the ship and maybe on how many ship i have acquired like a fleet, or which weapon to use on this turn to more effective fighting certain kind of ship, this way i can focus more on the in-ship battle like positioning my crew and healers like dungeon raids. And hopefully an option to fast forward to end of battle, because watching the battle repeatedly starts to feel dragging and too much grinding after a while and not fun at all. But I know this is just the initial version, so there are still lots of room for improvements for this already awesome game, keep up the good work! Hope to see more features and improvement in future updates. :)
