Great Performance!
Used to have Xiao Yi Wi-Fi cameras installed at home and not so happy about it. Remote access proved to be so slow. Not til I have these new set of Tapo cameras by TP-Link. It's high resolution was remarkable especially with it's 2K night vision! Been using it for several months now and no malfunction experience so far. Easily accessible through remote access. I definitely recommend this to everyone who aspires to have CCTV in their personal space.
Straightforward.
Intuitive. Very easy to use and to set-up. Update after months of usage. Since this is not a AI camera The motion detection may sometimes trigger a false alarm like : 1. When you lock your car using the remote for example and when the signal lights blinks esp. at night it will trigger the alarm. 2. If you happen to have a motion sensor bulb in the garage, once its on it will trigger the alarm 3. If the clouds suddenly block the sunlight, once cleared this will trigger the alarm. Sudden changes in lighting confuse the motion detection and interpret this as physical movements. Can we have this fix on furure updates?
Update March 2023:
Using the AI person detection still a hit and miss.
I already turned off the motion detection and turned ON the AI person detection to avoid the issues mentioned in my previous review but still cause a false alarm similar to the issues mentioned above like sudden change in shade due to cloud blocking the sun, at night when you lock your car door remotely and the signal light blinks it will notify you ' person detected' etc.. so person AI need to be updated.
From 5-star I'm Giving this a 1-star for now until this is resolve. And wait AI person detection comes with a subscription fee so better fix it asap.
Suggestion
Can you allow us to update our wifi in the app for each device? It will be helpful if we need to update our network and passwords more so if someone is copying our wifi ssid and passcodes or is doing a man in the middle attack.
Can you remove that 2minute and 5 minute confirmation annoying screen for viewing live ? Tappo please allow us to add security feature like authorization key for 2fa and also time management for the motion detection and day and night settings on what day and time we preferably want those active for customization settings. Update: can you also automate the item to alert sound if it is touched physically? Can you also make a watch app for tapo
