Now that the holiday rush has passed, we are back to work in delivering the best TuneTransit experience possible for our riders. Since our most recent major release (Version 1.7), we have been continuing to improve the app behind the scenes. In this update, we are introducing a new feature alongside a few bug fixes: Promos! With this feature, you will be able to redeem any sort of limited time promos that we send out, whether it is on our social media channels (website, Instagram) or via notification, through entering a code directly in the Settings tab. The feedback that we have received since our first update has gotten us to where we are now, and we cannot wait to take things even farther in 2026. Notably, in Version 1.7, we have completely redesigned our Search experience and have brought our new Results design to iPhone. It truly brings the app together, and combined with our other improvements made in this major update, we are excited to close out the year with our best experience yet. With our new Search tab, we are also rolling out a Recently Played section that displays recently played tracks on Apple Music and Spotify/Tidal (once connected via Last.fm), even when TuneTransit is not actively open. This feature is available now in beta for our TuneTransit Premium users, so please let us know what you think! - On iPad, we have introduced a landscape search result design that better complements the screen orientation. - Finally, we have also redesigned the entire search functionality UI to reflect the aforementioned changes. The holidays are just around the corner, and as part of our end of year goals, we wanted to do everything we can to improve our rider experience. In the last few updates, we've cleaned our stations and polished the TuneTransit rails... but while we like doing what we can in the moment, we also strive to make even more impactful upgrades on the ride as well. Think of this update as maintaining the experience you know and love, but making it extremely more smooth and efficient! For our latest major update, our focus was about enhancing and improving the app that we have built through all of its iterations since this summer. The first thing you may notice is our performance boost for TuneTransit searches -- because it's A LOT faster! These sorts of upgrades make TuneTransit that much more seamless and enjoyable to use on a daily basis. This update contains the following new features, bug fixes, and improvements: New Features: - Search results in TuneTransit now load faster than ever! We've optimized everything under the hood for a snappier experience across the board. - Introducing our new iPad design! With this update, iPad users will be able to enjoy TuneTransit with an optimized UI for larger displays and a new results design that displays search results in our beautiful grid layout that is featured in our Smart Links. - Messages support in TuneTransit has been completely revamped from the ground up. Is it spraying the TuneTransit stations with bug spray? Is it fixing our train cars for a better rider experience? Maybe it means we need to write a 500 word response on the importance of fixing bugs.... This update serves primarily as a bug fix and improvement update for our users that utilize YouTube Music and Tidal. As we have been working on our next major update, we have identified some improvements that could be made in our overall engine -- so we figured, why wait? This update contains the following bug fixes and improvements: Improvements: - For tracks that do not exist on YouTube Music but have 'Official Audio' on YouTube, we have provided those results labeled separately in our Find Music results. (This result will not carry over to generating a smart link as it is not an official YouTube Music track) - We have refactored our code for YouTube Music and Tidal searches to produce results that are more accurate in less time than previous versions. As a result of these changes, all users may notice a slight performance boost when it comes to how fast TuneTransit completes searches. All that to say, this is an update with a ton of stability improvements and bug fixes! Due to the amount of bug fixes and improvements that we made in this update, we could not miss our opportunity to monologue and make your day that much brighter. In fact, maybe you have noticed our *BRAND NEW* app screenshots that are also rolling out with this release! This update contains the following bug fixes and improvements: Improvements: - TuneTransit's app screenshots on the App Store have gotten a glow up! - Profiles have been leveled up with a redesigned setup page that will automatically display the next time you open the music feed. - TuneTransit widget text has been optimized for all devices. - Apple Music background tracking for the music feed has been reengineered to utilize our backend for improved performance and reliability. - Feed refreshes have been optimized to only take place automatically when the app opens. Otherwise, the feed can now be refreshed by selecting the Refresh icon or sliding the feed down from the top. This app was designed to optimize and empower users to share music in the moment, and with this release, we wanted to take that experience to the next level. By releasing our new Music Feed, redesigning our widgets to make searches much faster, and improving the overall experience of our core engine through performance upgrades, TuneTransit levels up in a big way!(And yes, it even skips Version 1.4 in the process) This update contains the following new features, bug fixes, and improvements: New Features: - TuneTransit has a new tab.... and it's called the Music Feed! While it clearly needs a better name [that we are workshopping as we speak], we created a new experience that allows you to add your friends and view the music that they have been listening to, regardless of where they listen. Next stop: iOS 26, better performance, and widgets! After releasing TuneTransit v1.2 a few weeks ago, we went straight to work on our next update supporting iOS 26 devices. Of course, we may have gotten carried away... and not only optimized the app for iOS 26, but also improved performance across the board for all TuneTransit users AND created our first widget! This update contains the following new features, bug fixes, and improvements: - New Feature: Introducing our first TuneTransit Now Playing widget for Apple Music users! With our first widget, you can add TuneTransit directly to your home screen and when you're playing music on Apple Music, clicking the widget will bring you right into the Find Music tab with the song loaded right in. Support has been added initially for Apple Music, but we are working on enhancing this feature for more music platforms in the future! - New Feature: Introducing iOS 26 support! With this update, we have made a few modifications to how certain pages load, and have also introduced a new navigation bar for users running iOS 26. This new navigation bar embraces Liquid Glass and allows you to view more content on each page, in addition to just making page transitions much more fun and enjoyable. - Improvement: Performance and stability improvements have been implemented across TuneTransit, specifically with finding music and how we run things behind the scenes. - Improvement: When typing an artist manually on the Find Music tab, the app will better adjust for seamless progression to running the actual search. - Bug Fix (v1.2.2): The new TuneTransit Now Playing widget now displays on iOS 18 devices. - Bug Fix: Searches for songs with multiple artists are now more reliable. - Bug Fix: The help text at the top of the Find Music tab now appears correctly in scenarios where it would not render at all. Now Boarding: TuneTransit v1.2 - the second major update to TuneTransit! This isn't your average local update; this one's an express! We've been working hard in the station to bring you some major upgrades to how you share and discover music with your friends, no matter what platform you are on. This update is jam-packed with these new features, improvements, and bug fixes: New Features: - Introducing Smart Links! Sharing any song or album in TuneTransit now provides a custom URL (share.tunetransit.app) that you can share with your friends -- complete with the ability to open it in Spotify, Apple Music, or even TuneTransit itself. - Introducing TuneTransit Playlists! You can now create TuneTransit playlists in the app that are derived from TuneTransit searches and organize their favorite songs. In fact, you can even send them to other TuneTransit members via text! (Available for TuneTransit Premium users) - Introducing Story Cards! With Story Cards, you can create an export of the song to share on other social media, such as directly to Instagram Stories. These exports also come with QR codes that navigate to the TuneTransit share links also introduced in this update. (Available for TuneTransit Premium users) - Introducing Last.fm support! With this support, all TuneTransit users can now accurately sync their currently playing song on Spotify to TuneTransit. Upon updating to this version, if Spotify is installed, all users will see a new screen asking for streaming service preference and an onboarding for enabling this functionality. Redesigns: - TuneTransit Onboarding has been modified to better accommodate first time users and reflect app branding. - The Home tab has been modified to better accommodate first time users. - The Transfer tab has been renamed to Find Music, and has been modified to better accommodate first time users and incorporate new functionality. - Our Messages integration of TuneTransit has been redesigned to mirror app design, and has a new feature to send recent conversions done in the app. - Nearby Sharing can now be accessed during Now Playing tracks via the antenna icon in the upper right. Improvements: - The Navigation Bar has been widened to allow for maximum space and easier tapability. - The YouTube matching algorithm has been rewritten to provide more accurate results. - Apple Music to Spotify searches on album URLs and tracks that are remixes are now more accurate. - Apple Music album artwork now has a much higher resolution across TuneTransit. - Performance improvements have been made across the app, notably in the speed of song searches. - Stability improvements have been made to the querying of currently playing music. - Nearby Sharing can now be enabled/disabled in the Settings tab. - Nearby Sharing now automatically connects to the first nearby TuneTransit user detected. Bug Fixes: - Spotify Now Playing functionality can now be utilized by all TuneTransit users via last.fm support. - On the History tab, users can now load more songs of their favorite artists when there are more to discover. - TuneTransit's AI fallback now considers the word 'live' in search queries. - Nearby Sharing sessions now accurately reflect the current track when nearby sharing is active. - TuneTransit can now fallback to sharing Apple Music and/or Spotify links if the TuneTransit Smart Link Service is not available. Introducing TuneTransit v1.1 - the first major update to TuneTransit! Since releasing TuneTransit last month, we've been hard at work on how to improve your experience and make TuneTransit your first choice for sharing music with your friends, whether it's in the moment or after you've had a chance to listen to the latest hits. This update contains these new features, improvements, and bug fixes: - New Feature: TuneTransit now uses AI! This AI functionality exists entirely behind the scenes, but it has allowed for even more accuracy when it comes to matching songs, albums, and even YouTube videos. Confidence is key with TuneTransit, and this feature helps ensure that in your musical adventures. - New Feature: Manual searches are now possible in TuneTransit! This new functionality on the Transfer tab allows you to manually enter the song title that you're looking for (along with the artist if desired) to allow TuneTransit to search for the music that you'd like to share/transfer. With manual searches, we believe that our users will be more empowered to share in the moment, even if they don't have a link to the song themselves yet. - Improvement: Sharing in TuneTransit has been optimized with direct sharing icons for each streaming platform, allowing you to get to sharing with your friends that much faster. - Bug Fix: Songs from F1 The Movie are now found by successfully utilizing AI and an improved fallback search. - Bug Fix: Songs that do not have an Apple Music or Spotify link will not display as being able to be shared on the Transfer and Saved tabs. - Bug Fix: TuneTransit can now properly regionally parse Spotify links from other countries to improve global compatibility.
