Ratings & Reviews
This app has not received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
This release focuses on reliability around encryption recovery, identity verification, and a cleaner first-launch experience.
What's new
— Auto-recovery when a contact reinstalls. Your messages now retry against the new session automatically — up to ten recent in-flight messages are resent once the secure channel rebuilds, so you no longer need to send a new message just to restart the conversation.
— Identity-change banner. If a contact's encryption identity changes (for example, after a reinstall on their side), Zero now shows a clear banner in the chat. Tap it to compare the old and new safety numbers side-by-side and explicitly accept or reject the change instead of silently trusting the new key.
— Cleaner reinstall. Reinstalling Zero now starts you with an empty chat list. New conversations appear as messages come in, the same way Android works.
— Friendlier placeholder for messages that can't be decrypted, instead of empty bubbles.
Security
— Removed a legacy encryption fallback that could expose messages to a key derivable from public information. Every message is now end-to-end encrypted via Signal Protocol with no exception path.
— Crypto errors that were previously silent are now logged for diagnosis, so future issues can be tracked down faster.
Fixed
— An issue causing some users to be logged out unexpectedly during normal app use.
As always, no message content, no metadata, no logs, and no telemetry leave your device unencrypted.
