APPS WE LOVE

Yazio

Take the work out of meal tracking.

Yazio’s goal-based nutrition plans give everyone a path to sustainable healthy eating habits. Logging meals becomes friction-free in an app loaded with guidance, recipes and insights to help you get lean, gain muscle or feel better in your body.

What we love: The food log, where you snap a pic of your plate or type what’s on it, removes the need to look-up separate ingredients. There’s also a barcode scanner for packaged items to see if the carb/protein/fat macro data fits with your personalised recommended intake. If the idea of intermittent fasting seems interesting, Yazio guides you to a suitable cadence, includes a timer and provides reassuring tips. It syncs with your wearable, so burned calories are factored into your daily intake recommendations.

Track your nutritional goals and recipes with Yazio.

Quick tip: Log meals before you eat, so you know what to add/subtract to hit caloric/macro targets – such as another dollop of cottage cheese for a post-lift protein hit.

Meet the creator: Sebastian Weber and Florian Weißenstein built Yazio as a university project in 2008. The mobile app followed in 2013. It’s designed to be an inclusive platform where anyone can cultivate consistent habits. More than 100 million users now count (calories) on it.
