Coil Reader

Books

Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Coil turns reading into something you watch. Words arrive one at a time, anchored at a single highlighted letter, so your eyes stay still and your reading speed climbs — 300, 500, 700 words per minute — without the line-hopping and re-reading that slows you down. Behind every word is a living sky that responds to the story. Tense passages darken. Wonder brightens. The atmosphere follows the writing, sentence by sentence. 70,000 FREE CLASSICS INCLUDED Dracula. Pride and Prejudice. Crime and Punishment. Sherlock Holmes. The Project Gutenberg library is built in and free to read. BUILT FOR FOCUS • Adjustable speed, from a gentle pace to a full sprint • Smart pacing that breathes at commas and rests at sentence ends • Tap any word to hear it spoken • Kids mode for early readers • Reads beautifully in multiple languages, including right-to-left scripts PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts. No sign-up. No tracking. No ads. Your library lives on your device and works offline. COIL PREMIUM — one-time purchase, yours forever • Import your own PDF, EPUB, and TXT books • Speed-read news and RSS feeds from your favorite sites • Additional atmospheres and visual layers No subscription. Ever.

See the shape of the book you're reading — its whole arc end to end, where you are on it, and where each feeling runs strongest. In the paused settings, under Controls. The atmosphere is right from the first page now, rather than spending a book's opening working out what that book's normal is. Translation works again on Android, and tells you why when it can't. It now sits with the language settings instead of hidden behind a disclosure. Gentler on your battery. Three choices in it worth knowing, in case you want to edit: - Leads with the book's shape because it's the only genuinely new surface, and the one thing in this release someone might screenshot. - The atmosphere line describes what's experienced, not the mechanism. "Reads the whole book up front to compute exact percentiles" is the truth but not the point; "right from the first page" is what a reader notices. - Translation is named plainly rather than buried. It's the one item an existing user may have tried and found dead, so saying it works again is worth more than the wording being graceful.
