First of all initial setup with a cleaning robot was painful and I wasted time as the pairing simply does not work if you don’t grant the application access to the location services. I tried on two different phones with different iOS versions and the app wouldn’t discover the robot despite providing correct Wi-Fi credentials and connecting to the robots AP. Of course the application does not notify you that you really need to grant it all the privileges to work. From my perspective the app should work with a limited set of privileges to respect the end user’s privacy. Also if some privileges are required for correct functioning - the user should be notified about it. With the current state one may really struggle to setup the device and the application.

Volume control of the robot does not appear to work - despite changes in the application the robot seems to confirm the change with the same level of volume all the time. Not sure if this is a robot firmware issue.

As for adding devices using the camera - if the app is not granted access to the camera it hangs and needs to be restated - lack of privilege is not handled gracefully.

Attempt to share the house via iMessage, AirDrop and email failed. For example with IMessage the recipient receives a message (null). With AirDrop a text file is sent to the recipient and that’s all. If house can not be shared by those means the UI should not allow them.

Finally there’s the localization. It really looks like nobody is testing this - with polish setup the app was really hard to use. Some of the translation strings are simply missing (e.g. button text is not present etc) and other are inaccurately translated - for example when inviting one to your house you have account number instead of email address. There are lots of such issues. Personally I had to switch the app to English to use it comfortably. Please test your UI and localization strings. If you use automated translations a person should still verify if the translations are accurate and make sense.
