I am playing since 1.1 version (2020year), one update after the game came out.I have a lot of experience. At the begging of the game it’s fun, a lot of quests and things to do. For end game players it’s no fun, sometimes there are new quests/areas coming out with updates but it’s not enough. The characters are beautiful and animations are well done. The problem is pulling for limited (5*) characters. You usually need to spend money to pull for a special character. There used to be 2 premium limited time banners (with weapon and 5* character) now it’s 2-3 at the same time with 5* characters and 1 with weapon, they usually last 20 days and it’s impossible to get all the characters/weapons you want. The gacha system is tricky. It’s very hard to get the crystals (aka primogems) to buy pulls for characters/weapons. Crystals in the game are really REALLY pricey and normally they are hard to get especially for the higher level players. I recommend it to people that just want to have some fun and are ok with the game getting bored or not getting the character they wanted.
an og player’s honest perspective

I started playing Genshin Impact back in 2020, right when it first launched. At the time it felt revolutionary, being one of, if not the most advanced free mobile games out there. Sadly the quality has been steadily declining ever since. With each new update the developer’s growing laziness and greed are harder to ignore. The new Miliastra Wonderland addition was a breaking point for me. It’s essentially a cash grab, with many of the most exciting features locked behind paywalls. And it’s not just that - more and more content is becoming inaccessible without spending money. Bosses and new mechanics are clearly designed to pressure players into pulling for the latest characters, making it almost impossible to keep up as a non-spending player. What once was a f2p welcome experience has turned into a playground for whales. Even the visuals and new character designs now feel underwhelming compared to other Hoyoverse (formerly known as Mihoyo) titles. It honestly seems like they stopped to care about the Genshin community altogether :( It’s disappointing, because this game has become a big part of my day to day life over these 5 years, but with every update I find myself falling away. With the way things are now, I definitely don’t recommend starting Genshin Impact if you’re new. There are far better options out there now. Save yourself the time, money and disappointment :((

Greediness
M☆rn♪e
I have been playing since the release and honestly it’s starting to get ridiculous… I understand that a company wants to make money, but Hoyoverse is JUST greedy.. Players and fandom is what keeps the game going and what gives the company money, so why are their voices ignored? Farming is hard, there’s tons of new characters every version, if you have around 90% exploration in regions and most of the quests done, you barely have any resources to gain primogems from, not to mention the 90 pity system and 50/50 + weapons banners… it’s a shame because the game is genuinely good and fun, but the company is what ruins it. It’s not about giving everything on a silver platter, but to make f2p players ALSO have fun… With Snezhnaya’s release approaching and new mechanics being introduced I already know they will be behind a paywall. Even with Fontaine where Ousia and Pneuma were introduced players could manage in a basic, f2p team, but now? Good luck on farming for several months for a character and their weapon (with a chance on getting a standard character anyway) if you don’t want to spend an absurd amount of money… if it keeps going this way, I’ll really have to think if I want to play this game any longer.
I love it but...

I played it since january and I must say that I love it, it’s addicting, the graphics are stunning, story interesting and characters lovable. There is one problem though, the game gets pretty boring when you’re in the late game. The updates are constant but not very often and there is not much to do after you do quests and level characters and their stuff. I really think they should add more endgame content because it’s a gacha game and I want to feel like I payed money for a reason and that money is not wasted on something that I will soon throw away. I love this game and I want to keep playing it and enjoying it but I simply cannot anymore. The anniversary is coming and I truly hope that it will change things and that we actually get something worth being an anniversary reward. I’m giving the game 5 stars because it really deserves it despite its endgame related flaws. Mihoyo please do something and save this game from it’s downfall.
