Komoot offers you navigation for outdoor activities, with the emphasis put on cycling. Navigation features work well and managed to positively surprise me even in the areas I know well. Different routes are offered for various kinds of activites, eg. road cycling, bike touring, gravel riding, MTB, etc.Compared to other apps, Komoot focuses more on where you go and what you see, not how fast you race and how many calories you burn. In the community aspect, the stress is also put on recommending particularly interested places or route segments, not only whole routes as such. Having said that, a feature which I miss is the ability to automatically plan routes along marked long-distance trails. This would be consistent with this touring-oriented style of the app.Integration and sync between desktop and mobile devices is great; you can plan your tour on a computer and immediately access it (or modify on the run) on your smartphone or tablet. The app works on Apple Watch and integrates with 3rd party devices (Garmin, Sigma, Wahoo). Although I have not tried it, these features look very promising as well. To unlock turn-by-turn navigation and offline maps, one has to purchase a region or a region bundle. They are rather costly, so give it a good try on the free region you get and if you like the app, consider unlocking the whole world for one payment, especially if you're offered any special deal. However, if you do not like being navigated in the field, the free version is still a useful tour plannner.
your ux designer should be hanged

the app is generally very good. while the stairs start when we are cycling, e.g. in the rain at night in forest and try to hold the phone in our left hand. each touch of the screen with the thumb adds a point on the map, with the bottom of the hand we also add it, trying to hit the tiny triangle on the opposite side to align the map, with the iPhone pro it is almost impossible. driving in winter gloves that work on the screen, aligning the route is also impossible because we add a point on the map more often than we align the route, wouldn't it be easier if the field around the buttons was excluded from adding points on the map? maybe it is worth adding a button that blocks adding additional points on the map? greetings - globetrotter positives now that you have read the feedback😁-> route planning is gre-> information about the type of road is great-> driving parameters checking statistics also extra-> fun with driving off-road is not comparable to any other app ... …one small thing if the app was only GPS, it could be run on the phone without a sim card and this gives you the opportunity to have phones on a bicycle as bicycle computer ;) I love this app if you correct the above-mentioned things, I will be taken to heaven :)

Planning drives me crazy but my husband loves it
BarbaraS123456
My husband loves the app and advised me to use it as well. I started my planning a tour but I had to surrender. No idea why the app was is trying to convince me that it knew better how to do the trip: I was adding points one after another but suddenly Komoot decided that my point number 5 should be rather point number one and changed the entire trip without asking if the last inserted point should be next one or maybe the entire trip could be changed. I didn’t have any more patience to redo the trip. In the meantime Komoot team was kind enough to respond to my original opinion and explained how to address my issue . The point is the route planning for me is user unfriendly and I am discouraged from using the tool. My originally one star I’ve changed to my husband’s and mine average. Hopefully at one point it will be user friendly enough for me to use it. Take care, Komoot team!

By default, komoot integrates your waypoints intelligently into the Tour, with as little distance as possible in between and regardless of the order in which you set them.If you want your waypoints to appear "in click order" at the end of your Tour, you can do this in the app and on our website. Select your starting point and the first stop on your tour as the current end point of the Tour. Then click on the map to set the next waypoint. Select "At the end of the Tour" to set the next waypoint at the end of the tour.On the website you can also use this shortcut: Hold down the option key (on a Mac) or the alt key (on a Windows computer) and click on a point of the map where you want the next waypoint to appear. This way you can set waypoints one after the other so they will always appear at the end of the Tour.Planning with waypoints is also explained in more detail here: Placing waypoints at the end of the Tour
App is crashing, not good navigation
darbat83
App has crashed multiple times during navigation!!!When navigating there is no easy way to zoom out and keep map follow you. Pinch to zoom some times result in adding new points to map, and close button has to low contrast not visible in the sun. I would rather use zoom in out buttons. It feels like app was not tested when riding a bike when phone shakes heavily. I have planned track on desktop and there were some points added to the map when adjusting track path and when navigating on the phone it was forcing me to go to those adjusted points even thou I went few dozens meters nearby. Navigation should have adjust to my path more flexibility and not force me to remove points from the map that I have never added.
