A missed opportunity
The good:
- the overall world design is rather OK,
- class selection with vividly animated interactions between playable characters.
The bad:
- fully automatic combat and story progression (and no obvious way to disable it in the settings panel),
- mediocre animations (for instance jumping, which looks rather artificially),
- unimpressive visual presentation,
- uninspiring combat mechanics,
- generic opening sequence,
- no obvious way to exit the game other than minimising it (for instance in Genshin Impact, there’s a log-out button)
- technical problems (for instance the log-in screen instructs the player to “Tap the screen”. I often have to tap like 20-30 times before I can get past the aforementioned screen (on an 11” iPad Pro (2020)).
Personally, I find this game a missed opportunity as it could deliver an awe-inspiring mobile experience. Unfortunately - in its current form - this game cannot compete with Genshin Impact, which is far superior in multiple aspects and areas.
Disappointing
The presentation at first was very promising, until the playable section came. The game keeps on handholding you, both during normal quests and during combat. That is active even if you are in the menus, which happened to force me into a cutscene (not a dialogue, an unskippable cutscene at that) when I was adjusting settings. Even if you wanna stop for a moment to enjoy the scenery, you simply cannot if you have a quest active. Other than that, my personal thoughts are that the game just feels like an MMO from 2010s rather than a game that released in 2022, which many may like, although it isn’t my cup of tea personally.
