ok, but ...

From the outsite application works fine. All files get synced automatically, finder integration looks well… but :) 1. When there is a batch of new files to be processed by the client, the CPU usage sky rockets to 100% and does not let go, seems like a problem. Computer becomes sluggish and all fans go to full speed. Really annoying. I had to quit the client to use the PC. Becayse I keep my project files in OD, each time I save a larger update I get the problem. 2. Upload of large files is problematic. When I restart the PC before upload is completed, OD Client starts the upload from scratch. Even if I had 70% uploaded. I have an async internet connection (like many other users) so upload is not very fast and takes long time. If I have a few big files in the queue they all upload at the same time each of them taking making that go even slower. During 5 hours I have my PC open, one or two files could be fully synced, but because the client was sending 8 of them at the same time, none of them finished and after reboot it starts from the beginning.
sharing not working

WHile with two drive accounts none of them is showing files and folders shared by other people. This is the "resetting" factor. Can't rely on a service that does not work as expected. You can store fildes but not share them. Its possible that it's only me, but if so, the servoce as a whole is unreliable. Two stars as you can store something though.
OneDrive is now unusable on a Mac
AdamDZ
The new OneDrive is unusuable on an older Mac running Monterey. Slow, high RAM usage, 100% CPU usage for hours, days even. Can't permanently turn off Files On Demand. Even if you select folders to be kept on the local drive, the contents are not always local. It processes tens of thousands of changes every few days even though only few files were changed. The folder is no longer located in my home folder, but somewhere in the Library. You basically don't know anymore where your files are. Are they local or in the cloud? What a total mess. After struggling for several days I had to stop using it and removed the app. OneDrive was aways bad on a Mac but the current version is just unusable.
High CPU usage always

This app consumes about 25% of CPU even when it has been idle for a long time and no file operations are ongoing. (Individual onedrive and fileproviderp processes can hover at 100% or above). When synching files, the usage can jump to 50%. (This is on an M1 8GB Macbook Air). There are multiple discussions about it on the Internet, dating back a few years, yet Microsoft has not done anything about it.I am aware that introduction of the fileprovider has caused problems for all cloud drive services, yet somehow apps from other large providers that I tried manage to conserve CPU and memory resources. So it can be done.OneDrive as a service is the best. The storage / price ratio for the 1 TB plan is the best on the marked (not even counting that it comes with M365 Office apps). Also the Web interface is the best I tried. Unfortunately the MacOS desktop app's poor quality ruins it.
Thank you for using OneDrive. We are always looking to update OneDrive to bring you the latest performance improvements and bug fixes for the best experience.
