Great tool for learning

mostly online library. Contains most (if not all) oreilly books plus some books from pragmatic programmers, packt and so on. Its made mostly for software engineers, but there is some content for managers or system administrators. The rule of thumb however is the closer you job title to developer/software engineer the better O’Reilly will suit your needs. I have to admit that despite there were some quality issues in the past now it works like a charm. Well, at least web+iPad. Expensive, 50$ per month sounds like a ripoff, do you really read more than one book per month? But this is not only for books. They have rough cuts so you can read books as they’re being written, live trainings where you can practice and get your questions answered by industry experts.

Safari queue has an awesome embedded reader. It has a clean interface, remembers where you stopped reading so when you open the book again, it will open to the page you were reading before.And that's all it has of good things. Now on to the near endless list of issues/lack of features:1 - Downloading is often a pain. I often out a videos to download and go to bed so that i have content ready to watch while commuting next day. Well, I always wake up to see many videos were simply not downloaded for no clear reason, some of them have a red exclamation mark on their side with no error message, and some of them are hung waiting for download... Awful.2 - The queue itself is terrible. You cannot group books by category, cannot tag them, can't do anything.3 - The app is not as responsive as you'd expect. Sometimes you need to tap the same button a few times to get the application responding to your touch.The list goes on but I think it all boils down to this: the app is sloppy, poorly implemented. If you are a member of Safari online, then download this app because it's your only option.Otherwise, consider subscribing to a training platform other than Safari.

Add option to remove animations

I can’t believe that exclusive app from the leading technical publisher does not allow me to turn pointless page swipe animations when I tap, not swipe, for the next page. Reduce animations is on in my iOS settings. And obviously I cannot export epub files to 3rd party apps or eink readers anymore that have much better usability because everything is a subscription these days. I read a lot in the evenings and the last thing I need to strain my eyes watching pointless animations. Same story with OReilly app on my eink reader, where the swipe animation is even more horrible.
