Good but could be better if more things were added…
Yukiiii :3
This app is really cool and I got it for Christmas 2 years ago, it has a lot of amazing brushes and features but there is some things that should be added that could make the app better, like, layer opacity, in my opinion it would make it easier to trace things without have bright colors flashing in your eyes or not being able to see the lines you are drawing, making the app simple but advanced, making the app look simple like putting everything into one folder and when you click it it shows everything but, it could have a more options button and it would have more advanced things in there or just custom making your settings and gap recognition, with that, we wouldn’t have to worry about making all the lines connect anymore and could still fill in our drawings.

Great, but could have some more options
Olek Aleksander
I use this application a lot and can honestly recommend it to anyone who likes to draw digitally. I have extensive experience with Photoshop, but strictly for drawing, I would always choose Procreate. The UI is clean, and the UX is good - I believe anyone could learn the software because it’s intuitive. Some features are really great, like editable strokes, which give you a lot of freedom with a clean output. Another excellent feature is the ability to edit selections with multiple layers selected - warping, skewing, anything goes. It’s a really cool feature, in my opinion, because you can have separate parts of the artwork but edit them globally.Unfortunately, there are no adjustment layers - this could be an awesome addition, as they would allow for a more non-destructive workflow and easier changes, especially when it comes to shading and coloring. You also have to pay attention when cropping, as layers get deleted. So, if you go outside the working canvas, you basically lose everything you cropped. This might happen because the artwork settings button is located next to the main screen button. The last feature I’m missing is the ability to assign a layer to a group -this would be helpful, especially since there are no adjustment layers. Nevertheless, it’s a great app for iPad! :)

Great and terrible

The biggest advantage of Procreate is that it's really well optimized. But for my type of workflow this is where the pros end. It could be a very good app for someone who started digital drawing on iPad or who barely use any desktop apps at all. As someone who began digital art journey on desktop software Procreate is hella unintuitive. In opposite to other competitor iPad apps Procreate basically forces you to build and learn your workflow from scratch. I find it utterly hard to navigate because of very minimalistic UI and confusing functionality. I installed procreate 5 years ago or even more and I use it every time I need to paint something on a large canvas (quite often lately) and it's always uncomfortable. I still make mistakes while trying to make a selection, enlarging objects (and losing quality) when trying to move them around, making a dab with my pen because I'm forgetting that with Procreate you need to smudge your fingers all over your screen in order to copy, paste, pick color... Because it's so different from other software that I also use.

OK. We went too far. This update sharpens the corners of your Gallery thumbnails. It also calms down the height of Animation and Page Assist and fixes an issue in 3D painting where you couldn't import meshes without normals.
Remember that all your custom brushes are available in the Classic Library by pinching the brush panel, or tapping the Procreate Library title.
