Quietmarks
Tenant noise complaint log
4,99 zł · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Document noise complaints with timestamped audio readings, your notes, and an optional photo - then share a tidy PDF evidence log with your landlord or attorney.
QUIETMARK IS BUILT FOR ONE THING
Tenants who hear a noise, want it on the record, and need something they can actually send to a landlord or court. Sound-meter apps are loud about the number but don't keep a record. Notes apps don't measure. Quietmark does both - and exports a tidy PDF.
CAPTURE THE EVENT
- Tap the big button. Quietmark opens the microphone for 3 / 5 / 10 / 30 seconds (your choice in Settings).
- It samples the audio meters at 10 Hz to compute the peak and average decibel level (a dB SPL approximation - Quietmark is NOT a calibrated SLM, and the app says so clearly).
- The microphone is used ONLY for these short, deliberate captures. Nothing is recorded to disk, nothing is uploaded.
LOG THE DETAILS
- A one-line headline + multi-line notes.
- An optional photo from your library (helpful for documenting visible noise sources).
- Day-grouped reverse-chronological list with "Today" / "Yesterday" / weekday / date headers.
EXPORT TO PDF
- Generate a Letter-size "Noise Evidence Log" PDF with your name, rental address, landlord email, and the date range.
- Every entry becomes a row with peak/avg dB pills, your notes, and the optional photo thumbnail.
- A prominent calibration disclaimer on the first page makes the app's limitations clear.
- ShareLink hands the PDF off to Mail, Messages, Files, or any installed share extension.
PRIVACY-FIRST
- Everything stays on this device. No cloud sync. No accounts. No analytics.
- The microphone is only used during a deliberate capture; there is no background listening.
- The photo library is read only when you choose to attach an image - and again, that image stays local.
ABOUT THE DECIBEL NUMBERS
Apple does not expose a calibrated Sound Level Meter. Quietmark uses AVAudioRecorder's standard metering APIs and converts them to a dB SPL approximation. The number is useful for showing relative loudness in your evidence log; it is NOT the kind of number you would use to enforce a specific dB ordinance. The Settings tab includes a full "Calibration Disclaimer" sheet explaining this in plain English.
WHO IT'S FOR
- Tenants logging upstairs neighbors, parties, construction, road noise.
- Apartment HOA reps building a record before mediation.
- Anyone who needs a contemporaneous, dated, professional-looking log of noise events.
$0.99, one-time. No subscriptions.

Quietmarks 2.0 — a pro upgrade that turns samples into a credible case file, still 100% offline.
• Structured incident log: category, source, room, impact, witnesses, and whether police were called.
• Recurrence engine: a weekday × hour heatmap and a 0–100 credibility score that turns scattered events into "noise typically Fri–Sat, 11 PM–1 AM."
• Quiet-hours flagging (with correct past-midnight math) and disturbance-minute analytics.
• A calibration offset so you can match a reference and improve your readings — always shown honestly as an approximation.
• Upgraded evidence-package PDF with a Pattern Analysis & Methodology page, plus a complaint-letter generator that includes the recurrence summary.
A documentation tool, not a calibrated sound meter. No account, no cloud — everything stays on your device.
