Overall the app feels very solid for what is a 5 month old product. Everything works smoothly. Somehow images are better quality than on Instagram. If this keeps up I just might spend more time here than I do on X. Keep it up!
The worst recommendation algo I've seen

Whoever that persona is who was in charge of designing this "follow recommendation" algo, should not get his full TC this year: this is pure trash - I keep getting the same recommendation to follow the same guy whom I don't know and don't care about 3 days in a row, then I block him to stop receiving them and this app choses another dude whom I don't know and starts pinging me daily at the same time. How hard is it to decode a boolean in your top tier bleeding edge ML algo (designed&approved by a Staff AI,ML Engineer/Technical PM with TCs in 0.5-1kk range) that your recent recomm outputs aren't that great if the user hasn't clicked on them after the last n>3 attempts?!The existing "suggested users" feature in insta is amazing compared to this.
can’t use the app at all. instantly rate-limited on first launch

I installed threads for the first time today and the app is completely unusable.from the very first screen i get a constant error:“try again later. we limit how often you can do certain things to protect our community.”I haven’t posted anything, followed anyone, or done any action that could be considered spam. i literally just opened the app and it immediately blocks me.the popup keeps flashing on the screen, making the app impossible to use. even trying to open my own profile triggers the same error.this is not a user issue. this is a broken anti-spam system that treats new users as bots and locks them out on first launch.threads is unusable if this is how new accounts are handled.please fix your onboarding and rate-limit logic.

It’s great that this app exists but it still needs some important features. For example, trending topics would make threads more relevant and useful to people who want to check what’s happening in the world. I would also love to see an iPad app and the ability to customize how the app looks with different themes.
