- Contextual menus can now also be opened with a right-click when using the app on an iPad with a mouse or trackpad - When importing filter lists, uBlock-compatible filter lists are now better recognized if certain metadata is missing. - Bugfix: Missing translation in the settings of the “Settings” app added. - Bugfix: When updating modules, all modules were reactivated. Now the activation-status is kept intact. - Bugfix: When activating a tab group, the active tab of the group was not always activated immediately. - Bugfix: In the tab settings, the option to distribute computing time for background tabs was not visible. - Bugfix: After moving to a new device, the menu for the app icon was not updated immediately.

- Under iOS 26.1, there is a new option in the user interface settings to make the background of pop-up menus/windows opaque. iOS 26.1 now generally makes pop-up windows more transparent, which can lead to readability problems in unfavorable situations. The new switch can remedy this. - There is a new option for the admin to configure newly created user profiles. The admin can specify in the user interface settings whether these profiles should be in full-screen mode (e.g., to create profiles that are to be used exclusively in full-screen mode). - On iPhones with Touch ID, the status bar can now also be hidden in full-screen mode (on Face ID devices, the status bar is always visible in the area of the “notch” or “dynamic island”). - Improved URL rewrite rules and improved module for the YouTube embedded player. - When creating new User Profiles, it is now also possible to clone existing profiles (which includes bookmarks, settings, etc), which makes it easy if you want to have mutliple profiles with the same configuration. However downloads, history, caches and cookies are not "cloned", and if the original profile is protected (password, FaceID/TouchID), you need to authenticate for this profile to be able to clone it. - Improved the way plain text files are opened to preserve their original formatting - Bugfix: Under iOS 26 it could happen when lanuching the App in a way that would automatically activate the addressfield that the address field was party covered by a second address field. - Bugfix: Extremely large files (several GB) in the download manager could crash when opening the contextual menu for these files. - Added a workaround where the iOS would have incorrectly redirected certain links to their "native" App (Universal links) when restoring the state of a web view

Fixes a crash in case the text selection menu was customized in the past for a non-admin user profile.

- Adjustments to the user interface to match the new “Liquid Glass” feature in iOS 26 - Supports the menu bar on the iPad running iPadOS 26 - In iOS 26, summaries of web pages (for page information, reading list, and bookmarks) now come from Apple Intelligence (if available). - iOS 26 includes a new “AI Prompt” feature that allows you to send any prompts to Apple Intelligence (local AI models) to answer questions about the current web page (e.g., summaries). This feature can be accessed via an icon in the toolbars or via the action menu (if AI is available). - There is a new option for the Action/FavIcon menu to display information about the current page (title, URL, certificates, HTTP headers, summary, permissions). - Bookmarks can now contain a description and a list of keywords. Both can also be used in the rules of “Smart Folders” to fill these folders with bookmarks. - The bookmarks in the Quickstarter can now also be changed directly on the Quickstarter page. - You can now also enter the name/password for the proxy directly in the proxy settings and do not have to wait until the proxy asks for it - There is now also an option for menus and gestures to open a page or link in Safari - For the 2-finger tap gesture, you can now also select “Open in Safari” and “Open in default browser” - There is a new option in the “User interface” settings to specify how status messages are displayed. - There is a new export/import function for cookies. This uses the Netscape cookie file format so that cookies can also be exchanged with other browsers that support this file format. When exporting via the cookie settings, all cookies or only those selected via the search function are exported; the general export/import function always exports all cookies. - There are new options for the text selection menu: "Create link to selected text" and "Create bookmark to selected text". - The image file format "webp" will be now recognized as image file format, so the downloads window will show a preview and these files are shown in the image browser as well. - The "download progress" widget for the dynamic island could crash if the total file size of the download is unknown - The download window will now also recognize text files which do not have a known file extension as text file and provides a way to display them. - When the App is configured to open search results in new Tabs, but the current tab is fully empty, the result will now show in this emoty tab instead of creating a new tab - There's a new option in the address bar settings which allow to switch off colorizing the different URL components. Using different colors for the URL components can make it much easier to distinguish between the URL components, which can also help to detect fraud and phishing attempts may manipulated URLs. However some users might find the colors distracting, so this is configurable now - iCab Mobile now supports installing alternative AppStores within the European Union - Bugfix: The App is now able to import the exported filters from the mac version of iCab again - Bugfix: VoiceOver users could not use shortcuts of bluetooth keyboards to control VoiceOver, because the iOS seems to fail to evaluate the VoiceOver shortcuts for when the App also supports its own shortcuts, even though the shortcuts of the App and those of VoiceOver do not overlap. Therefore iCab Mobile will now ignore its own shortcuts while VoiceOver is enabled. - Bugfix: On a few devices the tabs or favorites toolbar on the iPad could change its height in rare cases when changing the device orientation. - Bugfix: if the status bar was switched off the for fullscreen mode, the status bar mask was nevertheless visoible when the App was lanuched into the fullscreen mode - Bugfix: when saving animated GIFs only still images were saved - Bugfix: the bookmarks window did not always close when opening a bookmark from within the bookmarks search results

- In the contextual menu of a Tab (Tabs toolbar, Tabs window) there's a new option which allows to add the Tab into another Tab Group or to create a new Group with the Tab - The Tabs window marks the active Tab in another color now, so it is easier to deetc in dark mode. - For the suggestions of the address field there's now also an option "unsorted" available in the settings, so the sugestions do not need to be always sorted by title or URL - HEIF/HEIC files will be now recognized as image files. - The sort options for downloads does now include an option to move all forlders to the very top when sorting - The „x-callback-url“ protocol now respects the setting to open links from other Apps in new Tabs, in case the information whether to open the link in a new tab or not is not provided through this protocol - A Bookmarks.html file within the downloads can now be imported into the bookmarks - On Web sites which provide a filename for a download in an invalid format, the filename that was used by iCab for the download did not always meet the expectations (even if it was technically correct). - Bugfix: The "URL Shortener" module did not copy the short URL to the clipboard - Bugfix: Saving a PDF that is currently displayed could fail, in case the PDF was protected by a login - Bugfix: Old versions of iOS sometimes opened the contextual menu to the top, even though there was much more space available to the bottom, resulting in a very small menu that could not show all the menu items at once - Bugfix: In case multiple profiles were opened at the same time on the iPad (Stage Manager, Split Screen) and these profiles were configured to show the User Interface in different languages, all profiles could nevertheless show up all in the same language. - Bugfix: The very first time the dark mode for web sites was enabled for a site, the mode for the dark mode was not saved correctly.

Unfortunately, there was a bug in iCab Mobile 11.0 that in rare cases could lead to the loss of bookmarks and the resetting of some settings if you had updated from an older version. However, as iCab by default creates a backup every time you change your bookmarks (from iCab Mobile 11 onwards, up to 5 backups are kept), it should usually be possible to restore all bookmarks from the backup of the old iCab version. Affected users should proceed as follows: First, please open the bookmarks window and switch to the bookmarks (if other data such as homepage, history, etc. are displayed in the window, the bookmarks may not be visible immediately). In the bookmarks, tap on the “+” at the top and then on “Restore backup”. You will now see a list of available backups (with date), the backup from iCab Mobile 10 is specially marked with the addition “(V10)”. If you select this V10 backup, the lost bookmarks will be restored from the backup. Other changes: - Opening the download window is much faster now, of many hundreds or thousands of files are located within the downloads window - Fixes a rare crash during access verification by FaceID/TouchID - The calculator module did not work - The ShareSheet extension “Open in iCab Mobile” did not respect the option to open links from other apps in new tabs - A few smaller bugfixes and improvements

iCab Moblie is almost as old as the Apple AppStore. This meant that it was not always easy to support new iOS features. The new version of iCab Mobile (version 11.0) has therefore been reprogrammed from scratch and is based on the latest iOS technology. This will significantly simplify further development in the future. The app continues to offer the familiar features, some of which have been restructured and made clearer, and it has been greatly improved and expanded in many areas. APP - The app supports any number of independent user profiles (e.g. for use by multiple users, separation of professional and private use, etc.). - Start the app on the iPad as often as you like at the same time (Split-Screen, Slide-Over, Stage-Manager). - You can log in to each app instance with a different user profile (since iOS 17 this also works simultaneously) USER INTERFACE - Redesigned, clearer and simpler settings window - Improved configuration of the menus (context menu, action menu, FavIcon menu, Text Selection menu). Subfolders and dividers help to make the menus easier to use. - Browser toolbars can be placed at the top, bottom or on both sides, can be hidden/shown when scrolling if desired, icon colors/style/sizes can be configured - Browser toolbars can be configured separately for large and small windows on the iPad (important for Split-Screen, Slide-Over, Stage Manager) - Context-based additional keys for the standard keyboard help with text input - Activate a permanently accessible scrollbar to make navigation or longer web pages much easier. Fixes an issue of the "Open in iCab Mobile" option in the Sharesheet

- A new option in the Web Site settings allows to block/skip the tracking links on the google search result - The in-page search now remembers the last search position, so you can continue the search even when aborted the search completely before (of course only when you are still on the same page and the search term does not change) - Removes a filter from the default ads blocker which could prevent that links of the google image search function as expected - Fixes an issue with creating QR codes for links under iOS 17 - Removed the "google cache" module because google discontinued this service - Fixes an issue when launching the App through one of the options from the menu of the App icon on the homescreen while being logged out of all users accounts. The command from the App menu was ignored in this case, instead of executing the command after logging-in with a user account.

- In the web site settings there's now a new option to disable "universal links". The "Universal links" feature of the iOS allows App to redirect links to their website to themselves, so these links won't open in the browser anymore. But because many users do not like this "hijacking" of links, this can now be prevented with the new setting. - Workaround added for an iOS bug when handling fragment identifiers within "data" URLs - Bugfix: When opening many links in the background very fast it could happen that not all pages did load. - Bugfix: Fixes a crash when opening a private Tab under certain circumstances - Bugfix: Fixes a crash when processing a very large number of new files within the downloads when there are already a large number of files in there

Unfortunately the new quickstarter can trigger a bug of the iOS, which has the result that the quickstarter does not always show its bookmarks. This iOS bug only affects tabs which were already used for a while to load web sites. So the issue only reveals itself after a while. If and when the bug shows up can also depend on the device hardware and iOS release. New tabs were never affected. This update of iCab Mobile includes a workaround for this iOS issue so it can avoid the empty quickstarter.

Unfortunately a very rare condition (and only if you never used the quickstarter before) could cause a crash when launching the last update. Sorry. This update fixes this issue again.

- The Quickstarter is far more powerful since iOS 14 now (in older iOS releases everything remains the same). It is possible to group the bookmarks within the quickstarter, so they are visually separated. For each group it is possible to define rules which control when or where their bookmarks are shown or hidden. This way you can have job-related bookmarks which are only shown on weekdays when being in the office and private bookmarks which are shown at home, for example. So the quickstarter can automatically adapt itself by time, date and location. At the top of the new quickstarter you'll find a few icons which can be used to configure the dark mode (always on/off or using the dark mode setting of the system), to set the size of the Bookmark icons, to select wether the icons show a preview of the page or the site icon, and there's an option to display the icons in separate groups or in a compact way without any group-boundaries. The last icon allows to edit the quickstarter so you can define/edit the rules (tap on the "…" icon), reorder the bookmarks by dragging them to the desired location etc. - The Tabs window (opened via "Tabs" icon from the toolbar) supports the same contextual menus for the currently open tabs as the Tabs in the tabs toolbar. Just long-press on the entry in the window (or on the Tab in the toolbar) to open the menu - Since iOS 16.4 it is possible to add web pages to the home screen via ShareSheet - Drag & Drop (for bookmarks, links, downloads etc) is now also available on the iPhone (since iOS 14). If and for what you would like to have the ability to drag & drop items can be configured in the "iser interface" settings. - Bugfix: Since iOS 15 the iOS adds its own "Search in Web" item into the text selection menu, even though iCab already has its own "search" menu item. Also the menu item of the iOS doesn't work correctly yet, it opens the search in Safari instead of the default browser. Therefore this menu item is now removed from the menu. - Bugfix: Fixes issues with client certificates in case there were multiple available which could be used for the web site - Bugfix: When saving web pages as PDF if these were already in PDF format did add additional print margins to the resulting PDF - Bugfix: The native in-page search (available since iOS 16) did not remember the last search terms - Bugfix: Fixes a potential crash for HTTP authentication - Several minor improvements and fixes

- Since iOS 15 there's a new menu item available for the action menu, which allows to directly pause all media output (audio/video). This works on a global level, so you don't need to know which tab plays audio or video content. This menu item is also available in the contextual menu of the Tabs, so you don't need to add an additional item to the action menu. - The user-defined Browser IDs can now have their own name which is used in the list of IDs in the settings. This allows to distinguish the IDs by name instead of by ID. If no name is given, the ID is listed. - In the bookmarks window you can now sort bookmarks in "edit" mode. You can sort by name, URL, label and date - In the "web site" settings there's a new option which allows to automatically redirect Youtube shorts to their "standard" youtube video page. This is useful if you prefer the full featured video player of "normal" youtube videos over the primitive video player of the "shorts". - There are now complications available for the Apple Watch, so it's possible to lanuch the Watch App from within a watch face - The default keyboard shortcut for „Close Tab“ has changed from Cmd-W to Cmd-Shift-W to avoid conflicts with a new shortcut of the Stage Manager on iPads.
