Workout plans now speak each step's name and show what's up next. A new step board makes a running plan easy to read from across the room. The timer stays visible and audible alongside other Live Activities and through Focus modes. Fixed wording in the trends summary.

History: every run you finish or stop early is saved, with tags, filters and a trends summary that stays on your device. Open a workout plan from a link and review, reorder or edit its blocks before loading it. Rests and times of a minute or more now read as minutes and seconds, like 1:15.

Set any rest length with the new Custom option, including minutes and seconds. Sessions can now be opened from a link that fills in work, rest and rounds for you. A new Reset button returns all your timer settings to their defaults.

Interval alerts now keep working after an interruption. If a phone call, Siri or another app takes over audio partway through a session, your alerts come back instead of going silent for the rest of the session, including while the phone is locked. Also in this release: • The session-complete alert plays in full instead of being cut short • Alert timing is correct when rest intervals are enabled

Rest between loops. Set 15 to 90 seconds of recovery after each interval, with an option to rest after the final loop too. Skip any rest early with one tap. Custom start countdown. The lead-in before a session is now yours to set: off, or anywhere from 3 to 30 seconds. Also in this release: • Your music, podcasts and audiobooks stay at full volume while the timer runs • Pausing no longer restarts the countdown when you resume • Your interval, loops, sound and haptics are remembered between sessions • Stop a running timer without pausing first, and cancel a countdown you started by mistake • Clearer, higher-contrast buttons and labels, with full VoiceOver support
