As per the recent notification by the Road Transport and Highways Ministry, All government vehicles older than 15 years will be de-registered and scrapped. Furthermore, any private vehicle will need to undergo mandatory fitness tests to keep themselves operational on roads. In this regard, the intent of the government is to promote emission control as well as facilitate individuals and institutions to procure vehicles with more fuel efficiency, less emissions, and higher road safety standards. To facilitate that, the government directs that any end-of-life vehicles will be condemned/ scrapped only through Registered vehicle scrapping facilities (RVSFs). To provide support to the initiative of the government, MSTC launched its ELV auctioning portal through which institutional sellers can conduct auctioning of their ELVs to RVSFs. Furthermore to facilitate the individual/ private seller to better locate the nearby RVSFs, the web version of our portal provided the facility to upload all the vehicle details. Once the vehicle details are uploaded in the system, they are displayed to registered RVSF who can directly contact the individual sellers and procure the vehicle based on mutually agreed upon rates. To further streamline the process and make the facility accessible to the maximum number of individuals, MSTC has now come up with a mobile application that can empower Individual motor vehicle owners to upload their ‘end of life vehicle’ details without any hassle. All individual sellers will require to register with MSTC by filling out a simple registration form. Once the registration is successful, they are free to use the mobile application to upload their vehicle details. Various information related to the vehicle like RC Number, Engine and Chassis number, working condition of the vehicle, address for pick up, expected price, etc needs to be entered. Once the details are submitted, the vehicle is listed for viewing by RVSF. If the RVSFs want to procure a particular vehicle, they can contact the seller over the phone/email provided during registration of the seller. Further negotiation regarding the price, mode of delivery, and handing over the deposition certificate will be finalized between the seller and individual RVSFs. MSTC intends to provide a marketplace to bring together individual sellers and RVSFs and facilitate easy disposal of such end-of-live vehicles to intended parties.
