MenuMapper offers a seamless platform for users to discover and plan their dining experiences by leveraging shared QR code menus and rich location-based information. The core functionalities include: QR Code Scanning & Menu Access: Users can scan QR codes found at various establishments (restaurants, cafes, bars, etc.) to instantly access their digital menus within the app. Menu Sharing: Users can contribute to the platform by adding new QR codes and linking them to the corresponding digital menus of places they visit. This crowdsourced approach builds a comprehensive database of menus. Location Integration (Google Maps API): For each scanned or shared menu, the app utilizes the Google Maps API to display the precise location of the establishment. This allows users to easily find the physical address. Google Place Details: Beyond location, the app integrates with the Google Places API to provide valuable insights about each listed place, including: Review Grade: Displaying the average user rating and reviews from Google Maps. Photos: Showcasing images of the establishment and potentially its dishes, sourced from Google Places. Price Awareness: Users can view the prices of menu items, enabling them to compare costs across different locations and make informed decisions based on their budget. Informed Decision Making: By combining menu details, location, reviews, and prices, users gain a comprehensive understanding of a place before deciding to visit. This helps them choose what to eat/drink and plan their visit effectively. Time & Cost Efficiency: MenuMapper aims to eliminate the time wasted on searching for menus, comparing prices, and deciding where to eat. It provides an efficient way to find suitable and economical dining options. Intelligent Search & Filtering (Future Feature): Users will be able to input specific food or drink items they are looking for. The app will then list establishments offering those items, ordered by: Likes/Popularity: Based on user interactions or potential future rating systems within the app. Price: Allowing users to find the most affordable options. Near Locations: Prioritizing establishments that are geographically closest to the user.
