As-needed medication doesn't always fit a daily schedule. AsNeeded helps you record what you took, when and how it went, with a clear history to look back on. Log a dose, add useful details and get on with your day.
MAKE A QUICK NOTE
- Log a dose now or backdate a missed entry.
- Use your prescribed amount and unit, including fractional doses.
- Hold a medication's Log button to record its default dose; use Undo if needed.
- Add a reason or notes, rate symptoms and effectiveness, and record side effects.
- Find medication names through NIH RxNorm or enter your own. Add a nickname, colour and icon to recognise medications in your list.
SEE YOUR HISTORY CLEARLY
- Find doses and notes by medication and date.
- Explore usage charts over 14, 30 or 90 complete days.
- Track remaining quantities and refill dates.
- Export a clinician report to share your records.
KEEP YOUR INSTRUCTIONS HANDY
Save an optional minimum dose interval, a rolling 24-hour quantity limit or both. AsNeeded uses your saved settings and logged doses to show the next saved dose window. Scheduled reminders and optional next-dose alerts help keep these details handy.
These are your saved instructions, not medical clearance. Guidance can't account for unlogged doses or determine whether a medication is safe for you. Follow your prescription and care team's advice.
LOG WHERE IT WORKS FOR YOU
- Log a prescribed dose from a notification after authentication, if saved-guidance checks allow it. You'll get confirmation when it saves. If review is needed, open the app to check.
- Choose whether notifications show medication names.
- Open a medication's dose form from widgets, use Siri Shortcuts or record with the paired Apple Watch app.
- Use larger text, Dark Mode, VoiceOver labels and accessible fonts, including Atkinson Hyperlegible.
- Temporarily hide medication names with Demo Mode when showing someone the app. It resets when the app relaunches.
KEEP YOUR RECORDS YOUR WAY
Medication history and trends stay in local app storage unless you share or back up your records. Paired Watch features transfer information between your devices. Export JSON backups or choose a local or cloud-backed folder for optional automatic backups. Recording and history work offline. Search, purchases and some sharing destinations need a connection.
Medication lookup sends search text to NIH RxNorm. Optional support purchases use Apple and RevenueCat, which process anonymous app identifiers, purchase records and technical service information. Medication history is not sent to RevenueCat. See the privacy policy for details.
FREE TRACKING, OPTIONAL SUPPORT
All tracking features are free, with no ads or premium feature tiers. Optional tips and recurring support subscriptions fund development but unlock no features. Apple shows each purchase's price and billing period before you confirm. Manage or cancel recurring support in your Apple subscriptions settings.
