This rental app is modern technology for car rental. You guys can easily view what cars available , how much cost for various rental period. My car rental was through this app. Not physical shop. I rented a car for one month, but unfortunately, the overall experience with Self Drive was disappointing—especially when it came to the security deposit and post-rental support.After returning the car, my security deposit was held for nearly two months, which is excessive. I was initially told it would take 40 days to “mature”, and only after that could I submit a refund request. Once I did, it took an additional 15 days to process. This entire process felt unnecessarily delayed and poorly communicated.To make matters worse, I was charged around 300 QAR in additional fees labeled as “processing” and other unclear charges—on top of the repair costs. These extra deductions were not transparently explained at the time of booking.Another major concern was the level of customer support. During the booking phase, responses were quick and helpful. However, once I requested my refund, communication dropped significantly, and it became very difficult to get timely updates or assistance.Overall, the lack of transparency, delayed deposit return, unexpected charges, and poor post-rental support made this a frustrating experience. I would strongly recommend improving clarity around fees, streamlining the refund process, and maintaining consistent customer support throughout the entire customer journey

I want to share my experience with Selfdrive, which I believe is a deceptive platform for renting cars online. They act as a broker rather than a direct rental company, often partnering with unreliable providers like Platinum Rent a Car. Both companies employ questionable tactics that seem designed to maximize their profits at the customer’s expense.Five months ago, I booked a Toyota Raize SUV for two days through Selfdrive for a total of 226 riyals. After providing my credit card information, I was charged immediately. When I returned the vehicle, three hours before the end of the rental period, everything seemed fine during the handover. However, later that day, another 113 riyals was deducted from my card without my consent.Despite my efforts to resolve the issue, it took nearly a month to recover that amount. Additionally, I was charged 805 riyals for a supposed scratch on the car. I had recorded a video before accepting the vehicle, which showed the scratch was already there. However, they insisted it was my responsibility and refused to acknowledge the evidence.Instead of deducting the charge from my 1500 riyal deposit, they opted to charge my credit card directly. When I offered to fix the scratch for a nominal fee of 100 riyals, they declined, likely because they profit from these unnecessary charges.Ultimately, I realized I had fallen victim to a scam. When I requested my deposit back, they denied my claim. After disputing the charge with my bank, I finally received my money back after five long months.My advice to anyone considering renting a car online is to think twice. It may be better to save up for a used car in Qatar instead of risking your money with companies like these. Protect yourself and your finances by avoiding unreliable rental services and cheaters and monsters
