As passionate riders ourselves, we created Coffee Rider to solve a problem we experienced first-hand: while there are plenty of navigation and route apps available, very few truly bring riders, routes, ride planning, and the riding community together in one seamless experience. Our app was designed to become more than simply a sat nav - it’s a complete riding companion built specifically around how motorcyclists actually ride, explore, and connect.
Intelligent Route Creation
Riders can create completely custom rides in multiple ways:
- Design a full route manually
- Choose a destination and allow the app to intelligently generate a ride
- Add selected waypoints and let the system build the best roads in between
Riders can choose from riding presets such as:
- Fast
- Curvy
- Twisty
- Adventurous
The result is a riding experience tailored to the journey, not just the destination.
Connected Group Riding
One of the biggest frustrations during group rides is coordination - especially when riders are joining from different locations. Coffee Rider solves this by allowing rides to be shared:
- Publicly
- Privately
- Within selected riding groups
When riders join a ride, optional live location sharing allows the group to see each other’s positions in real time. This makes it significantly easier to:
- Join a ride en route
- Track staggered riders
- Coordinate fuel or rest stops
- Improve safety and awareness during group rides
Coffee Rider is designed to strengthen the social side of motorcycling while keeping the riding experience simple and intuitive.
Ride Recording & Sharing
Exploration is a huge part of motorcycling, so the app also includes ride recording functionality.
Riders can:
- Record routes
- Save favourite rides
- Share experiences with others
This creates a growing library of rider-discovered roads and experiences that the wider community can enjoy.
Motorcycle-Focused Navigation
Navigation is powered by TomTom technology, delivering reliable, real-time guidance optimised for riders.
Key navigation features include:
- Current speed display
- Live speed limit information
- Distance remaining
- Estimated arrival time
- Clean turn-by-turn guidance
For riders who prefer minimal distractions, the navigation interface can also switch to a full-screen turn-by-turn mode for maximum visibility and clarity while riding.
Rider-Specific Discovery Filters
Unlike generic map applications, our search and discovery features are built around what riders actually need while out on the road. Dedicated rider-focused filters include:
- Fuel stations
- Accommodation
- Coffee stops
- Motorcycle-friendly locations
- Meeting points
- Scenic stop-offs
Additional filters can be enabled depending on the type of ride or adventure planned.
Built-In Events & Community Features
The app also includes an integrated event calendar, allowing rides, meet-ups, and motorcycle events to be organised directly within the platform. Events can be shared:
- Publicly
- Privately
- Within selected rider groups
This helps create a stronger riding community while making it easier for clubs, groups, and organisers to coordinate events and ride-outs.
