Rosettica is a privacy-first AI translation app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Translate text into multiple languages at once with TranslateGemma running on-device, stream results in real time, and keep your data off third-party servers.
Powered by TranslateGemma 4B on Apple's MLX framework, Rosettica runs fully on-device for maximum privacy. You can also connect to your own OpenAI-compatible server, or let your iPhone use your Mac as a local translation server over Wi-Fi.

• On-Device AI Translation — Run TranslateGemma locally on Apple Silicon. After a one-time model download, translation works entirely offline with no cloud APIs.
• Local Network Translation (Mac + iPhone) — Turn your Mac into a translation server for nearby iOS devices. Your iPhone discovers the Mac automatically via Bonjour on the same Wi-Fi network and offloads translation to the Mac's more powerful hardware. All traffic stays on your local network.

• Automatic Source Language Detection — Rosettica detects the source language automatically using on-device NaturalLanguage analysis. You can also override the detected language manually.

• Image-to-Text Input (OCR) — Extract text from photos, camera captures (iOS), or imported image files (Mac), then translate it instantly.
• Flexible Backends — Switch between on-device, remote server, or local network modes in Settings.
• Multiple Remote Endpoints — Configure and prioritize multiple OpenAI-compatible endpoints (LMStudio, vLLM, Ollama, etc.) with connection testing, model discovery, and drag-and-drop reordering.
• Performance Controls — Tune max parallel translation tasks to balance speed and memory usage for your hardware. No upper limit — you decide based on your device.
• Translation History + Search — Every translation is saved locally. Browse, search, and copy past results anytime.
