The application worked well until a while ago. I have bought the app for home use to check my 3 series from time to time. Since a while ago the application misbehaves. You connect the phone to the wifi of the dongle, try to run a scan and then you are prompted that the app cannot connect to some “Smart Mechanic” servers. What is this? I assume in the middle of the diagnosis I should connect the app to the internet, cutting the connection to the dongle?! Hitting Cancel will eventually time out but this is annoying as it takes way to long to run a simple scan.Also, firing up the application, you connect to the wifi of the dongle, then the app complains about the internet connection for refreshing some data. Well, the behaviour of the application becomes annoying

I had Carly for BMW with subscription. I used it for a couple of months and now after the Iphone IOS update it is not connecting anymore to the addapter. I see now that there is a new version of Carly addapter on the market for all cars; maybe they buged the old app to move to the new one. I asked for support and tried everything and after some days I received a mail that my issue ticket is now closed. Thanks a lot Carly. Paid for the addapter, paid for the subscription and now I get an useless stuff. Do not recomend. I was thinking to get also the version for VAG for other cars but I stop here with testing this crap. Support at 10% when closing the ticket without solving the issue.

You don’t buy a scanner. You buy a license paid annually. You can read the codes with any scanner and look up the detailed info on internet. I would understand the annual license if the technical info changes, but my car is 14 years old so I really doubt that’s the case for me - and many others for that matter. And you don’t get any notification that your billing period is up, you will find out that you paid 100€ for another year when the bank notifies you or when you read your bank statement - not a nice feeling.
