I got the pro version with the 1 year free for students deal and I really found it useful. I personally think that its more useful for academic stuff than ChatGPT. It has helped me a lot in understanding the logic behind the maths that I am doing and self teach new matematical concepts
What’s going on lately?

I’ve been using Gemini as my daily go to AI app and I use AI a lot. It used to be a very good assistant and I’ve got the pro plan for 1 year. Right after my purchase google have changed many things right after the “Google I/O 2026” event. But since then everything is wrong. Conversation context just doesn’t seem to work at all sometimes. Gemini was unable to read information I’ve sent in the same conversation 2 messages before. And Gemini just forgets stuff it is not supposed to. Some conversations just disappear. I have a conversation with about 10 messages, it is the last I’ve created and Gemini can’t even show me the full conversation. What does this mean? What is going on? I feel a bit scammed tbh. Like it used to work and it doesn’t anymore. Gemini cannot analize some pictures anymore and it doesn’t follow instructions like before. How that is was good and just after I paid Google for a better service I received an unusable service? What’s going on Google? I am not pleased at all!

I am extremely frustrated. Canvas is permanently stuck on my long ongoing Gemini chat and there is NO way to remove it. The X only offers to start a new chat, and the chip comes back after I refresh the page and reinstall the app. Google support told me directly that this isn't possible and to send feedback here. I can't just abandon the chat, and having it stuck like this is unacceptable. A company this size should have a basic option to turn Canvas off in an existing chat. This is not a minor annoyance. It's a missing core feature that traps users in a broken chat. Fix this. Add a way to detach or disable Canvas on an existing conversation, and make sure the long chat is not lost in the process. I expect a response.

In my honest opinion, this is the worst AI experience possible. It is plagued by constant inconsistency: whenever you give it precise instructions to write something specific, it frequently veers off course and starts generating completely unrelated content. The text is full of spelling mistakes and typos, completely inverting the relationship where you find yourself constantly correcting and teaching the AI instead of it assisting you. Furthermore, it constantly breaks down, freezing up with sudden 'no connection' error messages. This isn't a one-time issue either—it has happened repeatedly, making me genuinely lose my temper because it constantly outputs an overwhelming amount of absolute nonsense
