Echo now opens without the occasional freeze, and iCloud sync is steadier: photos and voice notes upload more reliably, and the widget stays current. Plus small fixes.

Echo is now made for iPhone Duo: its tabs and controls move into the side column, so your photos get more of the screen. Hijri dates now show the month's full name. Plus small fixes.

Echo is now in Messages: open Echo from the app drawer in any conversation, tap a memory, and its story card drops into the message field, ready to send. The daily reminder's photo is now the same memory that Open and Keep act on. Also: a faster, smoother launch and sync, full-size type on story cards in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, Hebrew and Hindi, and many fixes.

Echo is now on Apple Watch: today's memory on your wrist. Keep it with one tap and add a voice note in your own words. Your streak and recent memories are there too, and a complication puts today's memory on your watch face. The Apple Watch app is free. Also: a smoother launch and many fixes.

Make your film for free: Echo turns your memories into a short film. Watch it, save it and share it with Echo+. Your films and books are now kept under "Your films" and "Your books", and they come back on your other devices. Every memory now keeps its own copy of its photo. If a photo was deleted from your library, choose another one for that memory. Also: language changes apply at once and "System" follows your iPhone, the Echo+ page opens with its words right away, optional anonymous crash reports (you can turn them off in Settings), and many fixes.

Your year, as a real book: open Book on your Wall and turn its pages like paper. Your voice, as a story: a memory with a voice note now shares as a video, with your photo and your voice. Questions written for your photo: with Apple Intelligence, the question under each memory is about that moment, and it never leaves your iPhone. Films that move: every photo in your film now drifts gently, like a real film. Also: quicker saving, video memories on Today, only your own photos, a Today widget that rises in your Smart Stack, and fixes for iPad and iPhone Duo.

Faster mornings and a calmer Echo. Your first memory of the day arrives sooner: Echo no longer waits for a full library scan, shows the sharp photo straight from its cache when you come back, and prepares the next one before you swipe. A photo that can't load is quietly skipped instead of stopping the day. Fixed: swiping right after reopening the app could spin forever, and a rare launch crash when usage stats were on. Settings say less and mean more, and you can now tell us in one tap whether you're enjoying Echo.

Critical reliability update for Echo. Photo loading now keeps a sharp, full-resolution memory on screen and makes left and right browsing reliable, even when the next photo needs a moment to load. Returning to Echo no longer hides your memories, and saves are flushed safely before the app is closed or relaunched. We also tightened iCloud recovery so memories remain available after a reinstall or on another iPhone or iPad signed in to the same iCloud account.

Small fixes and polish under the hood. Your memories, your streak, and your wall are exactly where you left them.

Fixed an issue that could leave Today empty when loading photos or swiping between memories. Your current photo stays visible until the next one is ready, and interrupted loads can be retried. Improved recovery after returning to the app and transitions between Live Photos.

Echo+ has a new look. The subscription screen has been redesigned — clearer about what you get, what it costs, and what happens when a free trial ends. It is set in Echo's own type in every language it appears in, and in Arabic and Hebrew it reads from the right. Two things that were quietly wrong. Echo could ask you to rate it twice for the same milestone, and could ask while the Echo+ screen was still coming up — where the request cannot appear at all. It asks once now, and at a moment you can actually answer. And cancelling a book now really cancels it. Backing out of a book of a few hundred memories used to leave Echo drawing pages nobody would ever see.

Places is fixed. Opening the full map from your Wall crashed every time. It no longer does, and a memory whose location data is incomplete is simply left off the map instead of taking the whole screen down with it. Nothing you saved was touched. The widgets got the attention they were overdue. Photos are sharper — they were being saved at preview quality and shown at full size. Today's Echo now shows your photo properly instead of dimming it once you have opened it. Recent Echoes was quietly cropping half its photos away; it shows all four now. And the streak widget warns you before a streak runs out rather than after. Better in your language. The widgets were showing English on every non-English device. Counts now follow each language's own grammar rather than English's, so Arabic, Russian and Polish stop reading like a translation. New icons throughout, and VoiceOver now describes the widgets.
