Invaluable tool
I have been using the app for a year now and it is starting to sink just what an invaluable tool it is. I started with a weekly practice for the first few months, then I took a couple of months break to allow for the initial Introductory Courses to be digested. I tried to use my intermission to reflect and find moments of awareness throughout the day. If in fitness training rest allows for muscle growth, I discovered that something similar happens with meditation. When I felt ready, I returned to the set of 50 Introductory Courses then as I progressed I turned to the app content grouped under Theory. Theory Lessons offer nuggets of direction. Theory Conversations are just as useful, and I occasionally supplement those listening to Sam Harris’ podcasts.
One year in, I still struggle with looking at the one who’s looking, but there are lots of small victories along the way. If you are looking for a hack, a shortcut to meditation, this is not it. But if you want a well-designed tool to support a lifelong process of betterment, the Waking Up app is what you need.
Better then you think
I been using Waking Up for 6 months now. I was meditating before for an year but until I had a chance to experience the app I haven’t really knew what is really to meditate. The app has a very structured and simple program with lots of options and teaches to choose from. In addition, it has balanced theory and practice lessons and the theory I find it very useful to put things into perspective. Moreover I think that a big advantage that the app has is the ability of the teachers to offer their gift, especially Sam. Its not just a meditating app that you use to lower your stress levels and anxiety but its a new way of thinking that I am very fond and it helped me gain an edge over the daily rat race. Try it you won’t regret it!
It changed my life.
I have been using the app sincer 2019. On and off. Whenever a longer period of time passed when I was not using the app i could feel something was missing. The concepts promoted by the app are amazing. I used to be the type of person that shouted a lot at people in order to be heard but this app helped me realize that i can manage my interactions differently.
