This update fixes a freeze on the home screen that could occur after reinstalling or updating the app, and corrects an issue where some sun sessions saved a shorter duration than the timer showed.

Home UVI now defaults to clear-sky. Use Settings > Use Weather Forecast for UV Index to opt into weather-attenuated. Timer overcast slider now auto-presets from current weather and drives the displayed UVI live. Performance: History tab no longer recomputes from scratch on every tab return; Progress and Profile tabs no longer hit the dose ledger from view body context. Planning session-duration cap moved to Rust so iOS and Android compute the same MED-safe maximum.

Fixed a sync bug where CloudKit could delete locally-stored sessions that had never been uploaded. Recovery improvements on top of 10.9.1.

• Fixed: location-picker timezone detection in Spain (and other western-longitude regions). Solar noon, sunrise, sunset, and the D-window now read correctly in your local political timezone instead of falling back to longitude-derived local mean time.

• Cold launch and task-switch return are dramatically faster. The startup sequence no longer blocks the main thread — the white-screen-after-task-switch freeze that hit users on iOS 26 is gone.

• Sunrise and sunset times are back on the home screen, under the Solar Noon header. • History now shows your full session library — not just the last 90 days. • The Solar Arc card is a little cleaner when the sun is below 30°.

More resilient recovery if the local database ever gets into a state the app can't read (the black-screen-on-launch some users hit on iOS 26 + new iPhone setups). The app now attempts to rescue your profile fields before resetting the store. Daily-recurring supplement doses now sync to iCloud as they're generated, so they survive a reinstall instead of being regenerated from scratch. One-shot iCloud upload of any older local data that hadn't been synced yet — covers users who installed before the new sync engine became default.

Fixes a freeze on the Home screen that affected some users on iPhone with iOS 18.5 and later. Fixes the Save button on the Manual Session entry screen, which appeared frozen when a session was missing location or had invalid times; the button now stays active and tells you exactly what input it needs.

Fixes a timer-rate display issue some users hit mid-session — the rate could read 0 IU/min and stop accumulating even when conditions were unchanged. Refines the default UVI behavior to match the legacy app (clear-sky as the home default, toggle in Settings to use Apple Weather UVI). Additional stability fixes.

- Tracking accuracy: vitamin D rate recalibrated against the latest photobiology literature. Most users (especially long-time users in their 40s and up) will see higher, more accurate readings. - iCloud restore: better handling for accounts with hundreds of past sessions — previously some history could fail to restore due to a system batch-size limit.

- Fixes a startup freeze on iPhones running iOS 26 where the Welcome screen could become unresponsive on first launch. - Fixes the timer terminating after about a minute, leaving sessions un-tracked.

Bug fixes and improvements

Two user-visible fix areas in 10.8.62: • iOS 26 stability: this update fixes app crashes hitting users on iOS 26.4.x in two places — onboarding/location-setup (SwiftData reads in CloudKit-syncing state) and the home-screen Next-D-Window message line (Foundation localized-string formatter). Both crash families were Apple-iOS-26 framework regressions; this build adds defensive code that bypasses the crash paths so the app boots cleanly and renders correctly. • Apple Health duplicate-write fix: Vitamin D entries no longer multiply on every app launch. Previously the single-dose HealthKit sync path missed the dedup check, so a fresh entry got written each time the app opened for every previously-logged dose. This build adds a pre-write check so existing doses are recognized and skipped. No new permissions, no data collection changes.

Two user-visible fixes: • Projection chart anchor (Progress tab): the projection now starts from your current estimated D level, not from your last lab number. Users with old baselines who'd been logging supplements/sun saw the projection chart anchored at the stale lab value while the home/progress gauge already showed the correct estimate. Fixed. • Ad show-rate recovery: three structural fixes that were silently dropping interstitials — wait briefly for in-flight ads, preload on app foreground, and stop double-throttling on top of AdMob's own frequency cap. No new permissions, no data collection changes.

Critical fix for users on iOS 26 whose vitamin D history was disappearing on launch — the underlying SwiftData/CloudKit issue is now fully addressed. Also fixes the southern hemisphere sun arc orientation (east now correctly appears on the right of the arc when in the southern hemisphere), and stops phantom 0-minute / partial-IU session entries from appearing in History. Also includes the location-permission consolidation and several iOS 26 stability fixes from 10.8.55–10.8.59 that were not previously released to the App Store.

Crash fix: profiles now load through a corruption-resistant path on iOS 26 — fixes a recurring launch freeze. UV consistency: the UV index next to your sun angle now includes cloud cover so it matches the burn-time math. D-level projection chart now plots in your chosen unit. Headline chip and explainer text now agree. Pause now propagates: pausing the app freezes the lock-screen Live Activity. New Resume button on the lock screen. Per-side timer correction: the "min/side" countdown shows half the burn time (correctly). History "All time" filter now shows every dose, not just the last 90 days. Tap the UV badge on Home for a detail screen explaining how cloud cover, ozone, sun angle, and altitude shape your effective UV — plus a vitamin D rate ladder for different skin-exposure levels. Lab Results chart Y-axis labels match your unit preference.

What's new in 10.8.52: • Live Activity / Dynamic Island IU now updates while your phone is locked (was freezing after about 30 seconds) • Daily sun-exposure budget no longer subtracts your vitamin D supplements (a 2,000 IU pill won't make the app think you have less sun time left) • Sun session totals on the completion screen and in History always match (could occasionally show different numbers when conditions changed mid-session) • Pro purchase screen shows clear Loading and Retry states if the App Store is slow • iCloud sync status visible in Settings, with recovery options if your history ever appears empty after an iOS update • Sun sessions automatically replicate to iCloud on completion • Removed the completion chime when a session ends

Restores ad-free status for original D-Minder customers. Yesterday's update accidentally removed ad-free status from users who paid for the original D-Minder app years ago. This release fixes that detection and grants ad-free back automatically — no action needed.
