Cipher Sort Challenge Wave is a challenging puzzle game focused on checksum verification without using numbers. Instead, each data packet—a string of characters—has a signature represented by a symbol or icon derived from a secret lookup table. Your objective is to rearrange symbols within packets and reorder packets themselves to match the required signatures while respecting local restrictions such as forbidden adjacent pairs.
Each level contains between 3 and 6 packets, with each packet consisting of 5 to 9 symbols from six possible characters. Certain positions may be locked and cannot be moved. You can swap characters within a packet, rotate packets cyclically, swap entire packets, or apply fold operations that collapse packets by combining neighboring symbols based on hidden pairwise rules, shortening the packet length and changing its signature.
Signatures are calculated by repeatedly folding pairs until one symbol remains, which maps to the signature icon. You do not see the formula but can preview the effect of your moves on signatures before committing. Fold operations may be limited or irreversible at early stages, requiring careful planning.
The user interface uses dark data terminal visuals with monochrome glyphs, blue highlights for matched signatures, and red highlighting for forbidden pairs. Interactions include drag-to-swap characters, swipe to rotate packets, drag packets to swap positions, and buttons to fold. Animations and sound cues provide clear feedback for moves.
Levels gradually increase in difficulty, starting with rotation-only puzzles, then adding swaps, forbidden pairs, fold, and locked bytes with complex lookup tables and multiple goals. Scoring rewards correct signature matches and penalizes forbidden pairs and excessive moves. Victory demands matching all required signatures within move and fold limits without forbidden pairs; failure occurs when limits are exceeded.
