Gridnames is a modern party word game built for fast rounds, big reactions, and shared laughs. Two teams compete on a single 5×5 word grid, using clever clues and sharp intuition to uncover their hidden words before the other team does.
Every tap matters. Each word reveals its allegiance — red, blue, neutral, or the one word that ends the game instantly. Guess correctly to keep your turn alive. Slip up and the advantage shifts. One wrong move can change everything.
One player becomes the game master by scanning a QR code at the start of the game. They see the full word key and guide their team with strategic clues, while everyone else plays together from the shared grid. The result is constant tension, surprise reveals, and unforgettable group moments.
Beyond the built-in word pack, you can generate custom word packs directly in the app using AI. Create themed games for friends, family, classrooms, inside jokes, or special events in seconds, and instantly play with words tailored to your group.
Designed for parties, family nights, classrooms, and team-building, Gridnames requires no accounts or setup. Games are quick to learn and typically last between five and fifteen minutes, making it easy to play one round or many.
Optional turn timers add pressure for competitive groups, while pause and resume controls let you step away without losing progress. A clean dark interface and bold color reveals make the game easy to follow and perfect for group viewing.
