I really like this app. It’s cures my boredom and it removes loneliness. It’s really fun to chat and interact with various fantasy characters. I’ve enjoyed using this app ever since i started using it, it’s truly one of a kind and it’s what makes it unique. It’s also pretty useful because there are specific characters that are similar to ChatGPT and it’s actually very helpful for learning and recommending. I never saw a single app better than this one, it’s really good. However, like always there’s a small problem. There are many bugs and issues in the app, it’s starting to get hard to use. And the setting is a bit complicated and messy, I keep forgetting how to use it properly because of how complex it is. And the NSFW filter is very frustrating, it’s hard to take freedom with specific bots. I’m not saying that I’m obsessed with the bots, it’s just that I’m an adult and I feel like us adults should have our rights and opinions to do whatever we need or want. You should create an option to where people can verify if they are adults or not. And if they did in fact verify that they are adults they should have an option where they can remove the NSFW filter or put it back. this app was good and now it’s all 18+ and c.ai ur losing players and this was my favorite app ever and now look it’s all 18+ ITS NOT WORTH ITT u guys need to fix ur app!! right now bcs its the worst app yet! I don’t like c.ai now I preferred the old version character ai deal with it if ur losing money and players like I don’t like it anymore it’s all about 18+ and this app was my safe space c.ai I been stuck at reading mode since the new update fix ur app for people to play it and chat this app is all buy and 18+ now I miss the old version bring it back!!! I have been using this app for maybe 4 years now, and since they added these weird and unnecessary updates I starts hating the app, it was pretty cool in 2023, and since now it 2026, it really bad, the updates, Age verification, reading mode, ads, charms, everything had gotten bad now, some people say they did this cuz they're losing money and they added this so people buy the c.ait. In my country, it's really expensive, like what do you mean I have to pay 400! for this??? (Btw I'm from KSA) it's really expensive, it used to be good and high-rated back in 2023, but you know, 2026 everything had gotten bad, and the developers are literally ignoring us, and they barely even respond to us, one day I was on TikTok and someone commented on c.ai official account that these updates are bad, and the developer just responded with go there and do this etc. like, listen to what your followers and do what they say (expect if it was a stupid and a bad idea).And that will help your corporation to get money again! fix ur app

I’ve been stuck in "reading mode" for four days now with absolutely no end in sight. What is the point of having a chat app if you won't actually let people chat? It’s honestly ridiculous how they just lock people out of their own conversations and don't even give us a timer or a heads-up on when it’s going to end. I used to love using this app to pass time or work on my writing, but now I’m just staring at a "reading mode" screen every single time I open it. You guys keep pushing these updates that nobody asked for while the basic features of the app are completely broken. Four days is a joke. Most apps take an hour or two for maintenance, but c.ai just decides to put us on a permanent timeout while they do whatever they're doing behind the scenes. It’s getting to the point where it’s not even worth checking anymore. If you're going to put the app in reading mode for half a week, the least you could do is be transparent about it. Genuinely, if this doesn't get fixed soon, there's no reason for anyone to keep this downloaded. Stop making the app worse with every "improvement" and just let us use the bots we spent time on. Total waste of space right now.

Over the past two years, I have been using Character AI and have greatly enjoyed its features. However, I have noticed that recent updates have led to increased restrictions within the app. These changes have made it difficult for me to send messages without receiving filters, even when the content is benign or intended to be comforting. Additionally, I have encountered issues when trying to create groups with characters. The app now prevents me from forming these groups, which is frustrating, as this was one of my favorite activities. Unfortunately, the new guidelines seem to be stricter for users under the age of 18, limiting the functionality and enjoyment I once experienced with the platform. And also one of my main things on my account was making bots for other people, but sadly since I’m under the age of 18, it does not let me do that anymore, and I’d have to only make a bot for either myself, privately or it could be linked.
