A "Shallow MOD" caution appears when MOD falls below 22m/72ft — common with rich deco mixes. A "Very Shallow MOD" critical warning triggers below 7m/23ft, catching pure O2 and high-fraction mixes like EAN80 that are only usable during decompression stops. These warnings exist because selecting a deco gas for a bottom segment is a serious planning error. Best Mix now warns when your target depth pushes beyond recreational limits. "Beyond Recreational Limit" fires at depths past 39.5m/130ft, flagging that decompression planning is likely required — and Dalton is explicitly not a deco planner. A separate "No Enrichment Benefit" notice appears when the best mix result is just Air, meaning enriched gas adds nothing at that depth.
