Got three minutes? Sharpen the same mental math you use when splitting a check, working out a tip, or helping a kid with homework. No streaks. No ads. Most of us reach for the phone the second we need to do any math. Splitting a $74 bill four ways. Working out 18% on $52.40. Checking that the cashier actually gave back the right change. Arithmetika is a small daily workout to claw some of that back. Three minutes a day. No streaks to babysit. No ads. WHAT YOU GET A short timed quiz of arithmetic problems. You type the answer on the keypad, hit next, repeat. Get one wrong and the timer adds 5 seconds. Beat your best total time and you've set a new high score. There's also a Mental Quiz: operations flash one at a time and you have to hold the running total in your head until the final answer. It's harder than it sounds. The first time you try it on Hard you'll probably miss. That's the point. FOUR DIFFICULTIES Easy is single digits — the kind of math you'd do figuring out movie ticket prices for the family. Medium and Hard step up the range. Ultra is where it gets interesting: it has an intensity dial that climbs when you stack perfect runs and drops back when you slip. Stay perfect long enough and you start collecting champion trophies. Get fast enough and you unlock Ninja mode. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT No coins. No mascots cheering you on. No "you got 3 stars!" screen. Just numbers, a timer, and a record of how you did. The kind of thing you'd open while the kettle boils or while the bus pulls up. WHO IT'S FOR Anyone whose mental math got rusty after high school. Parents trying to keep up with a kid doing times tables. Servers, cashiers, market vendors — anyone who counts change for a living. People prepping for the GMAT, GRE, or SAT quant sections who want a low-pressure warmup. Adults who watch chess streamers and feel a vague guilt about their own brain. TRACKING Every run is saved. Scroll back through your history, compare best times per difficulty, and see how your Ultra intensity has moved over weeks. A note: this app rewards consistency, not marathon sessions. Play for a few minutes, then put the phone down. That's how it sticks.
