Beautiful but BASIC

I was tempted by the beautiful pictures and recipes and frankly the endorsement of Nigel Slater but this app feels like a ‘thrown together’ MVP rather than carefully and thoughtfully constructed inspirational recipe powerhouse that is worth paying out my hard-earned cash for.

It’s currently little more than a barely functional database. Difficult to search and the advertised ‘search by ingredient’ feature can’t even sort the recipes by relevance. When you click on those recipes the keyboard pops up and covers half the screen. There’s not even a real narrative for why I should care about who the chefs are that would elevate it to being more than, BBC Good Food for example.

The user experience is poor: It feels like they haven’t done any proper user research or testing to understand what users might actually want from this app.

If you’re considering subscribing, I would honestly recommend holding off for 6 months while they get the basics right.
